Description

With over 100 years of experience in the field of electric heat, we rely on high-quality manufacturing and high safety standards. Whether you like to snuggle on the sofa, or stay extra warm in your bed, an electric heated blanket is the perfect solution if you want to keep warm without paying more for heating. The Cosy Heated Blanket was made to keep you comfy, with six temperature settings and a super-fleecy surface that is skin-friendly and extra soft to touch. Cost per hour is based on using the blanket on its highest setting because, following our testing, we think that this is the setting you're more likely to use. The heated throws we've tested

After washing, bring the electric blanket to its original shape and preferably lay it flat on a clothes horse. In addition, the heated underblanket must not be wrung out, tumble dried, mangled or ironed. Using a heated underblanket is harmless if you are healthy. On the contrary, heat can promote circulation. Heat is known for having a positive effect on muscle tension. The underblanket provides relaxing heat – whether for use after a long day sitting in your office chair or after exercising. On their highest settings, we found that electric blankets cost anywhere between 2p and 7p an hour to run. For heated throws, the range is from 2p to 5p. The electrical and magnetic fields emitted by this heated product may interfere with the function of a pacemaker. Please consult your doctor and the manufacturer of your pacemaker before using this heated item. All Beurer heating products certified according to Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex are subject to constant quality control. This means that they not only make you feel great, but are safe to use as well. The Beurer HD 75 Blanket features Beurer Safety System (BSS), with patented electronic temperature regulation and automatic switch-off after approximately three hours of continuous activity, that ensures you remain safe under your blanket even if you fall asleep. Keeping your home warm and cosy doesn't have to mean a higher heating bill. With six temperature settings, skin-friendly construction and a large surface, the Beurer HD 75 Cosy Heated Throw Blanket was made to keep you nice and cosy while watching TV, reading, or taking a well-deserved nap. Features and Benefits of the Beurer HD 75 Blanket To switch the heated overblanket on, set the sliding switch for ON/OFF and temperature settings to setting Set your washing machine to a particularly gentle cycle at 30°C and use a mild laundry detergent. To ensure the heated underblanket has a long life, it should not be washed too often. Instead, remove small marks by hand.

Heat distribution Using the six temperature sensors, we record how evenly each blanket heats up. Most heat up evenly, but some have irregular hot and cold spots. Please note that this heated product should not be used by people with reduced sensitivity to heat or by other vulnerable people as they are unable to respond to overheating (e.g. diabetics, skin changes related to illness, or persons with scarred skin in the area where the pad is to be applied, after taking any pain-relieving medication or alcohol). Finally, we take into account the durability of each blanket by washing and drying it five times after testing.

Documentation

Comfort A panel of five volunteers assesses each electric blanket and heated throw for comfort. There is quite a big difference in how snuggly each one is and underwires are more noticeable in some of them. For electric blankets, we also assess how easy each one is to attach to a mattress and how comfortable each one is to lie on under a fitted sheet. This product will be delivered directly from the supplier and so only home delivery is available. It will usually take 3 – 5 working days to be delivered.

As part of our test, we washed and tumbled dried each of the blankets five times after testing, and then conducted a full electricity safety test. All the blankets passed.

Quality and High Standards

Cost per hour is based on using the blanket on its highest setting because, following our testing, we think that this is the setting you're more likely to use. The electric blankets we've tested Before getting started, it is important to know that using a electric blanket is not recommended if you have certain health problems. More detailed information can be found in the instructions for use.

Dates tested: August 2023 and October 2022. We're not able to show every retailer and cheaper prices may be available. Covered throughout the user instructions. We ask that the customer reads the instructions fully before use. Also, be aware that the running cost claims on the box are often based on the blanket's lowest power setting, which our testing revealed hardly heats the blankets up at all. You can see the real running costs based on the blankets highest settings in the table below. The best electric blankets from our testIf you buy your blanket from a reputable UK retailer, as we did for our tests, then it should be safe. shoppingListJS = new ShoppingListJS({storeId: '11352',catalogId: '28501',langId: '-1'}, {id: '2816093', name: 'Beurer Nordic Fluffy Heated Throw HD75', image: '', type: 'ItemBean', components: {}, skus: []}, {}, "shoppingListJS"); Durability After testing, each electric blanket and heated throw is washed and dried five times to simulate wear and tear. We then conduct a full electrical safety test on each one. None showed significant wear and tear, and all passed the test. In many adverts for electric blankets or heated throws, manufacturers claim that blankets cost 'pennies to run', but what does this actually mean?
