Description

Playing Doom: Eternal with this keyboard is a unique experience. Instead of the typical button mashing when trying to kill or run away from demons, the amazingly fast response of the Huntsman has us slowing down on presses, using light, accurate presses to run around, shoot, and smash enemies. Its speed puts us much more in control of the action. One of Razer’s greatest advantages is its peripherals’ long feature lists. The Huntsman V2 isn’t so expensive just because of its optical switches. It also has a lot of gaming functionality, like on-the-fly and software macro recording and programmable keys. With Razer’s Synapse software, keybindings can automatically launch with a specific game or other app, and you can program every key to have another function when right FN is pressed simultaneously. With Razer’s analog optical switches, light travels down a triangular opening in the switch’s stem. That opening widens as you press a key. A photosensor in the switch reads how much light is going through that triangle and makes an analog signal in line with how much light is detected. Adjustable Actuation Points The camera pulls out and transitions to a full shot of the Razer Huntsman V2 keyboard, complete with Razer Chroma RGB lighting and its ergonomic wrist rest.

Razer Huntsman v2 Analog Keyboard review | TechRadar Razer Huntsman v2 Analog Keyboard review | TechRadar

A big part of the cost is the analog switches. These are immediately useful in letting you set actuation points, allowing for a more customized experience that may aid in productivity. But you’ll be limited to PC games that take both keyboard / mouse and controller input, making this investment a bit harder. Synapse lets you store countless profiles on the app, and up to 4 profiles on the keyboard itself so you can bring them to another PC without Synapse. However, RGB settings and functions that require Synapse don’t carry over.Even if you’re not playing a game that supports our review focus’ analog features, there’s a potential advantage to be had in the Huntsman V2 Analog’s customizable actuation points. The most popular linear switch, Cherry MX Reds, have a 2mm actuation point, 4mm total travel and require 45g. Since you can set the Huntsman V2 Analog’s switches to have an actuation point as low as 1.5mm, your fingers can have 0.5mm less to travel to register an input. On top of that, the reset point is also customizable, so you can really get the feel you want. Actuation force is greater than Cherry Reds though, with the Razer switches ranging from 54g with 1.5mm actuation and maxing at 74g. Though the Huntsman V2 TKL might seem light on features, it really isn’t. It’s fully programmable with on-the-fly Macro recording, has Hypershift capability that lets you have secondary functionality for every key on the keyboard and about as much RGB customization as a gamer could want. A Hertz is a measure of how many times something is cycled every second, so a standard keyboard is polling about 67 times per keystroke. So, eight times faster gives you 536 polls per keystroke versus 67. If having 536 opportunities to capture a keystroke seems meaningful, this is definitely the keyboard for you. Your eyes still won't notice the difference though, and you probably aren't even typing at a world-record pace.

Huntsman V2 Tenkeyless Teclado óptico para jogos – Razer Huntsman V2 Tenkeyless

Text appears: If you're looking to go grab a gaming keyboard, specifically for competitive FPS, the Huntsman V2 TKL is a very strong contender. Premium design touches come in the form of an aluminum top plate sitting atop the plastic bottom and doubleshot PBT keycaps that look as good as they feel. If you look very closely, there’s a subtle finish to the top plate that provides a mild shimmer that matches the effect brought on by the keycaps’ visible texture. The keyboard’s overall finish is clean but not fingerprint-proof. It might be tempting to attribute this responsiveness to the new HyperPolling technology, but I actually think the linear optical switches had more to do with how good the V2 felt to game on. They were buttery smooth under my fingers and the heightened actuation point meant they reacted noticeably faster under my fingers. Unlike the first generation of these switches, they’re not as easy to trigger by mistake (in fact, they require slightly more force than Cherry MX Reds) which lowers the learning curve and helps to avoid typos.Incredibly, with all the improvements Razer has jammed in, including more cushion and less frame around the wrist-rest, even the dedicated media controls remain. It's not a huge loss that there are still no macros or USB pass throughs, and the company has at least removed the necessity to power the board's RGBs with a separate cable.

Razer Huntsman V2 (Purple Switch) - Optical Gaming Keyboard

The camera flips again and we see the keyboard being dropped into an acoustic test chamber that is lined with foam.It seems you’d have to be a hyper-alert eSports-level player to have a chance at noticing the difference. It’s possible that if we had a more powerful rig and/or faster display -- and maybe even an 8,000 Hz mouse to go with the keyboard -- we’d see noticeably less input lag when gaming. But most of us don’t have access to all that anyway. As the hangar doors shut close, the space becomes shrouded in darkness, highlighting the keyboard’s Razer Chroma RGB lighting for a brief moment. The camera transitions to series of buttons and dials at the top right of the keyboard. Graphical overlays appear across them, highlighting the various commands they can be mapped to.
