Description

Sofirn has made quite a name for themselves, churning out affordable, highly functional flashlights for the masses, and they keep getting better. Sofirn keeps their finger on the pulse of the marketplace and knows what’s hot and what’s not, so if something isn’t stirring the Kool-Aid, they fix it. The SC31T is a perfect example of this. Tactical-style flashlights are hot items, and every big-name manufacturer makes one (or more). I’ve been able to test some of the best on the market, and have a good idea of what makes a tactical light, well, tactical.

Unfortunately, it is important to note that the Sofirn SC32 underperforms by about 25% all around. In reality, the visual difference between 1500 and 2000 lumens is hard to discern, but what’s advertised and how it actually does are different things. The Sofirn SP35 ATR flashlight is a pretty cool light. The 6 stepped modes are great – low is low and high is high, and there’s plenty between. If you don’t like stepped, there’s ramping too!! The price is great! Long Review The Big Table Sofirn SP35 (ATR) Flashlight

Sofirn dropped the SC31 Pro 18650 Andúril flashlight not long ago, and I finally got my hands on one. It’s notable because it’s a very low-cost Andúril light! Read on for some thoughts and testing. Sofirn has released the SC32, a mini tactical flashlight. This light uses a Luminus SST-40 at 6000K and has USB-C charging! Read on! The numbers are down a bit on the higher settings, but close. The included cell is only good for about 10 amps CDR, so I wasn’t expecting big numbers. I tried a Sony VTC6 and ran the test again. The lower modes didn’t show much of a gain, but Turbo and High were another story: Turbo jumped to 1983.7 Lumens, and High hit 846.6 Lumens. I suspect if you bypass the springs, it would go up even more. To obtain these numbers, I used a very rudimentary integrated shoebox and ceilingbounce on my Samsung Galaxy S10. Measurements have been calibrated using a standardized calibration light provided by 1Lumen. It’s not possible to measure amps on this light as it requires the body to be disconnected from the head to access the battery.Maybe mine’s 6500K, but I have to say it’s still a clean beam and doesn’t feel so much like 6500K. Warmer than 6500K. Type-C charging: With the built-in USB-C charging port, a 18650 cell can be charged inside your light using the included USB Type-A to USB-C cable, freeing you to enjoy your day and being able to charge practically anywhere. A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours using a 3300mAh or 3.3Ah 3.6V 18650 cell. Surprisingly, the bezel is not glued down. Not only that but the threads are lubed. Usually manufacturers don’t want you getting into the bezel, but on the SC32 it’s wide open, meaning emitter swaps will be a breeze.
