About this deal

The Novels of Nora Roberts Volume 1, e-book (compilation: "Honest Illustions", "Hidden Riches", "True Betrayals", "Montana Sky") Jove Books (2011) The Stanislaski Brothers: Mikhail and Alex (compilation: Luring a Lady (1991) and Convincing Alex (1994) ), The Stanislaskis or Those Wild Ukrainians (2 & 4 of 6), Silhouette

Breen Siobhan Kelly grew up in the world of Man and was once unaware of her true nature. Now she is in Talamh, trying to heal after a terrible battle and heartbreaking losses. Her grandfather, the dark god Odran, has been defeated in his attempt to rule over Talamh, and over Breen—for now. I am going to be unusually frank. I was disappointed by my reading experience with this installment. I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books. I gave them each five stars or close. There’s magic and all sorts of creatures like trolls, mermaids, werewolves, elves, fairies, and witches. And best of all, there are dragons – dragons that only good can ride- beautiful, glorious dragons. And you all know how I love dragons. It’s got everything I love, and when you combine that with my history of reading and loving Nora Robert’s fantasy stories, this should have been a love fest of a review. Reunion (compilation: Once More with Feeling (1983) and Treasures Lost, Treasures Found (1986) ), Silhouette Eighteen-year-old Mallory Greenleaf is no longer interested in chess, not since her hypercompetitive dad left—the game calls up painful memories. But she grudgingly agrees to play in a charity tournament as a favor to best friend Easton Peña. After she unexpectedly beats current world champion Nolan Sawyer, she’s offered a fellowship that will prepare her to play professionally. Even though Mallory doesn’t want to play anymore, she needs the money that winning would provide; she’s delayed college to support her family, since her mother is chronically ill with rheumatoid arthritis and is unable to work regularly. The more time she spends with Nolan, the more Mallory comes to like and respect him—and the more time she spends playing chess, the more she remembers how much she loved it. But when she learns that Nolan has been keeping a big secret from her, she isn’t sure if she’ll be able to move past it to build a relationship with him. Filled with the author’s signature humor, well-developed characters, and realistic conflicts, plus the fully realized setting of competitive chess, this captivating romance will delight teen readers as well as Hazelwood’s adult fans. Mallory and Nolan are both cued white; there is some racial diversity among the supporting cast. Mallory and Easton are queer. Born O'Hurley (compilation: The Last Honest Woman and Dance to the Piper (both 1988) ), The O'Hurleys (1 & 2 of 4), Silhouette

I loved the character growth and overall message of the power of belief. Fans of romantic fantasy, lore, the fae, and paranormal romance will fall for these characters and storyline. Breen spreads her wings and realizes a power she’s never experienced before. It’s also a time for celebrations—of her first Christmas in both Talamh and Ireland, of solstice and weddings and births—and daring to find joy again in the wake of sorrow. She rededicates herself to writing her stories, and when his duties as taoiseach permit, she is together with Keegan, who has trained her as a warrior and whom she has grown to love. People's relationships felt more surface level than the depth we have seen before. The romance was not as present, with more talk and minimal action. A Little Fate (compilation: Winter Rose (2001), A World Apart (2002) and The Witching Hour (2003) ), Once Upon novellas (4-6 of 6), Jove I loved every little bit of fun there was inside all of the serious. Brian and Marco and the life they're going to make, Keegan and Breen and the snippets of what their lives will look like in the after. Not many authors hold such a sense of community with their fans, but it’s no surprise that Nora Roberts is different! Breen and Keegan - these two could have been written into a contemporary romance instead of a fantasy and they still would have been perfect for one another! With the enemy cast out and the portal sealed, this is a time to rest and to prepare. Breen spreads her wings and realizes a power she's never experienced before. It's also a time for celebrations--of her first Christmas in both Talamh and Ireland, of solstice and weddings and births--and daring to find joy again in the wake of sorrow. The Stanislaski Sisters: Natasha and Rachel (compilation: Taming Natasha (1990) and Falling for Rachel (1993) ), The Stanislaskis or Those Wild Ukrainians (1 & 3 of 6), SilhouetteFor some reason, I was a little put off by Keegan in this book. I don' really know if it was as apparent in the first two books and I missed it, or if there was a definite character change, but he felt really aloof to me. Almost distant at times, almost rude. I still liked him and liked them together, but a few times I thought, "wow". Nora’s recaps are always incredibly beautiful, poetic in a way that sets the tone for the story even though the voice shifts to something more casual afterward. I wish this type of recap was a standard practice with series, especially fantasy series. It’s been Nora’s standard for years. While I love rereading her books, it’s nice that these recaps are there for when I don’t feel like taking the time to reread them before the next installment comes out. The concluding battle, which the series has been bubbling up to, comes surprisingly late in the book. Some fans point this to their dislike, but personally, I found that it fits perfectly with the messages of the series. It was never a series about war, but rather about love. Love of family, heritage, culture, people, and the love that is woven deep in society which allows us to function as a community. This all is a commentary which works in dichotomy with the themes of power-hungry people, prejudice, and distrust.
