Description

The BA in Early Childhood Education (BAECE) at National University is an NCATE-accredited degree program with options for students to complete coursework online, plus a range of financial support resources with additional benefits for servicemembers and Veterans. Effective educators need to be able to pivot and craft instruction that meets the needs of the individual student to address the needs of the ‘whole child.

These architectures are not intended to supplant established and more traditional methods of instruction; rather, they serve to enhance the effectiveness and the likelihood of mastery and application of skills and concepts. The text provides a balanced overview of learning theories without a bias toward any specific theory, and then approaches a wide variety of educational topics from the perspectives of multiple learning theories. So how can learning theories be applied to help teachers do their jobs more effectively so that students can achieve better outcomes?

Content-area learning and models of instruction are infused into all chapters covering learning theory and processes to solidify the coherence and connection between teaching and learning in different content areas, learning principles, and processes. Put simply, they provide actionable insight into how learning occurs — insight which, ideally, should be used to drive and inform each educator’s approach to teaching and interacting with their students. For example, Pugsley (2011) sees the roles of educators “more as facilitators of learning, rather than imparters of knowledge”. The learning theories we experienced as a student influence the type of work environment we prefer as adults. Wheeler (2015) suggests that educators should question whether older theories are still useful, “but we should also ask whether the newer theories add anything significant to our understanding of learning in new digital contexts.

Special attention is paid to how these concepts and principles can be applied in today's classrooms.

It provides a solid coverage of theories and issues that I can depend on to insure that students understand the basics. The following four chapters cover key topics related to learning--cognitive learning processes, motivation, self-regulated learning, and contextual influences. This includes the use of automated technology, such as an automatic dialing system and pre-recorded or artificial voice messages, text messages, and mail, both electronic and physical, to the phone numbers (including cellular) and e-mail address(es) I have provided. The BAECE program at NU culminates in an academic seminar or field experience component, where the student will actively practice the material covered in core classes like Children with Special Needs and Play as Pedagogy. The chapters on motivation, self-regulation, and instructional processes address topics relevant to learning theories. With regional accreditation, fast-paced four-week courses, and the option to attend class online, our master’s degree program in education is flexible and convenient, yet challenging and rigorous. How many learning theories exist, in what key ways do they differ from each other, and what goals or objectives do they share in common? He has received the Early Career Contributions Award in Educational Psychology from the American Psychological Association, the Albert J. Lefrançois (2019) makes the point that evaluating theories is not always about assessing whether they are right or wrong. Most learning theories have “an empirical element and a formalised way of study, analysis and conclusion” (Harasim, 2017).

Understanding learning theories can result in a variety of outcomes, from improving communication between students and teachers to determining what students learn. This book goes through twelve different chapters regarding learning theories and different lessons that teachers need to know like how to create and implement effective lesson plans, how to include those with diverse and exceptional needs, and how to motivate students to learn. Though perceptual and attitudinal barriers can create obstacles to implementing discovery learning, these can be overcome.Key features of the text include: Vignettes at the start of each chapter illustrating some of the principles discussed in the chapter, examples and applications throughout the chapters, and separate sections on instructional applications at the end of each chapter. Nota: Los envíos a España peninsular, Baleares y Canarias se realizan a través de mensajería urgente. Core chapters on the neuroscience of learning (Chapter 2), constructivism (Chapter 6), cognitive learning processes (Chapter 7), motivation (Chapter 8), and development (Chapter 10) all related to teaching and learning.
