The smell is like something lemony like the lemon lime candy that we Malaysian consume in our childhood days. Leather, basil and patchouli are my most detected notes, maybe a touch of oakmoss and the sandalwood. The original was considerably more creamy, way more refined and well worth having in your collection.

EDIT: I feel compelled to add that the leather accord, which was one of the most wonderful and enjoyable facets of the original formulation, is not evident to me at all in the reformulation. The dry down is warm, sweet and earthy, with basil, cinnamon, tonka, oak moss and patchouli closing out the scent. Aramis Tuscany Per Uomo is a distinctively sensual fragrance that embodies Italian style and passion. The base notes became overbearing throughout the day though, and I ultimately preferred something more friendly. I have only tested the reformulated version and I can agree with everyone else that this smells like Azzaro Pour Homme. It had a way of lasting 8 hours or more with one spray -- I remember waking up in the girl's dorm, having had slept over, and still the women would come up to me and put their noses in the small of my neck, breathing in deeply. I don't know if you could test Jazz Yves Saint Laurent but for me this is the only one so close to Tsar in vintage version. Aramis Tuscany smells like an old fashioned aftershave, rather than an eau de toilette, although its performance is equivalent to an eau de toilette.

All that being said, I am a 30 year old woman and this is far from my usual taste but it's so clean and fragrant and classic. However, many of their aftershaves remain timeless classics that are as popular as ever, like their leading Aramis Classic fragrance. It starts off with a citrus burst like no other that I have experienced, lemon and lime are blended superbly well together and there's also the subtle hint of anise. The opening smells like lemon oil mixed with Azzaro - not my favorite part of the fragrance, but worth it to get to that RG dry down. Yes it does have quite a strong bitter opening but in less than 30 minutes I have found this falls away to a very smooth, warm, spicy leather. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . Tuscany Per Uomo has earned its place of honor in this fascinating aromatic world with all the merits, and I personally liked its smell a lot.

Aramis has enjoyed a reputation for excellence for as long as I care to remember - Tuscany being my favourite of theirs. It can, unfortunately, drown out the better part of a very beautifully layered and complex composition. Then the orange blosom carries the citrus spicy accord into the mid, so it goes from fresh spicy to more warm spicy. I wore some of this on my wrist today to compare to Drakkar Noir, and Tuscany just consistently smelled better. I have only tried the Gentlemans Collection version, and it sits right between Azzaro and Rive Gauche pour homme in the classic aromatic fougere tradition. Its lingering tang of citrus and dustiness of patchouli also reminded me, in miniature form, of the dry cacao-patchouli in Davidoff Zino. I am barely picking up the leather and am left with a caraway, basil, cinnamon, and tarragon skin scent. The skin scent in both cases retains a kind of fuzzy effervescence (the shaving foam thing) right into the drydown. As a cheap introduction to classic men's scents, you can't do much better than to get the sampler set.

The Aramis gentleman's collection brings back six classic Aramis colognes' in their original vintage bottles. Lingers all day, with dominant scents reversed, all leather with a hint of lavender and citrus instead of the other way around. The are almost the same, but the 87 bottle does come across as a little more cleaner, less synthetic in nature I suppose, they still share the same heart, but there is a real difference with the leather note. Tuscany has long been one of the harder to find scents in the Aramis Gentlemen’s Collection, and though it’s a far cry from the cheapie New West and Devin, I think it’s worth a spot in your collection. lingophile, just to correct one thing in your review so people don't freak out based on wrong information: IFRA (The International Fragrance Association) recommended and the European Commission imposed a ban (in 2015) on two elements in Oakmoss due to their potential to cause allergic reactions in up to 3% of the population.I have to say I really enjoy this fragrance because it doesn't open harshly (except maybe the citrus) and it drys down to be more delicate and less butch than some other Aramis offerings, especially the original. Starts with a so nice and fresh citrus, 5 minutes after it feels spicy and little floral, it can smell anise, caraway and lavender, so close to the smell of Azzaro, but more soft. the current lacks in depht comparing to the original, but the scent in itself is the same, so no changes in terms of notes. I have been trying this fragrance for the better part of a week and like it a lot but also have a couple issues with it. Tuscany brings me back to my early days in NYC when Italian families gathered together every Sunday, men smoked short ugly cigars, sipped anisette and the day passed leisurely.
