For example, HD60 S will be able to passthrough and capture a maximum of 1080p60 from Series X/S, while 4K60 Pro MK.2 can passthrough and capture up to 4K60 HDR. In the upper right corner, there is a Delay (ms)field. Enter 200. The properties can now be closed.

HDCP needs to be turned off for Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ to be able to capture from a PlayStation. You may need to make sure OBS Studio is properly using the analog input on your Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+. Open up 4K Capture Utility. Go into Settings, then Device tab. From here make sure the Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+ is selected. Then change the Audio Input from HDMI Audio to Analog Audio. This is perhaps compounded by the fact that you can't turn it off without fully unplugging it. Elgato noted to me that the 4K60S+ falls into standby mode when it hasn't been used for 15 minutes, but I found even in this mode, it would remain kind of warm, despite using only a reported 2w of power while standing by. It's not a deal-breaker by any means, but it's worth being aware of.In rare cases, a firmware update can actually harm the Elgatohardware. This is why it should always be done under the supervision of Elgato Support, under very specific circumstances. The vast majority of content creators may simply want to grab an Elgato HD60S+, which gives you all the tools and power you need to capture footage on a home PC alongside any connected HDMI device. However, if you're a more profound content creator, there are a few niches this device can fill. If you are using OBS Studio primarily to stream, the you will wish to set Video Bitrate to a level well within your Internet's upload speed. A good rule to follow is setting this to 80% of your upload. If you had 5000Kbps or 5Mbps as your upload speed, then setting this value to 4000Kbps would be a good starting point. Encoder The bit rate at which videos are recorded can be configured on the SD Card. Learn more about configuring standalone recordings here. The 4K60S+ is versatile too. If you're taking it on the road, you can power it separately, as noted by an external power source. Using it in this way, you can capture PC footage directly, without using the local PC hardware, which might otherwise impact game performance. At home, you can power it via USB-C to a USB-A port on your PC. This way, you can use it for streaming games as with other Elgato capture devices, or capturing footage directly to your PC from any device connected via HDMI.

The Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ is for content creators who want to upgrade their channels in a big way. For starters, it can capture 4K HDR gameplay directly to your PC or SD card. Yep, this is Elgato's first capture card to use stand-alone recording via an SD card, which is a massive plus for console games and a long-awaited feature from veteran Elgato users. While the 4K60 Pro does something similar in terms of what it can capture, the S+'s extra portability is what you should care about.Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ supports exFAT and FAT32. Most current SD Cards come pre-formatted in exFAT, and exFAT is our recommended format.
