I dnf'd this book after about 5 chapters, but briefly read the conversations between the MCs for another couple of chapters. Her life is upended when she gets some devastating news while she was at work. It only gets worse when she goes home to discover her boyfriend had been a philandering scoundrel and that she has lost her home. She is now known for her penchant for penning some angsty stories that can be very intriguing. She currently lives in Hong Kong but given her wanderlust, she has at some point made her home in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. Catharina Maura was born and brought up in the Netherlands but has to be one of those people with a very complicated ethnic history. Grayson and Aria navigate their undeniable attraction and newfound proximity even though their relationship is off-limits.

Given that he is a professional, he intends to do what is expected of him until he meets Amara Astor. He just cannot away from Amara, which just makes both their lives complicated. When he sees Aria in action, he decides to give her a job and offers her a place to live in his penthouse in Silicon Valley. But Aria has a secret that a lot of people even those close to her do not know about. I also found myself a bit bored during the second half of the book, and the whole brother being in love with Alanna storyline was super annoying to me. I wished that the brother kept to his previous words about using Alanna, because I was so frustrated that the problem was a love triangle instead of her simply having amnesia. I think that's also just me hating on love triangles, so it's definitely a personal preference thing lol.

I have trouble rating this one because there were moments that I LOVED in this book, and moments that felt completely off based on the first half of the book. The writing was amazing, and I truly think that this is one of Catharina Maura's most stunning works. The story was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, but ultimately the plot felt all over the place and inconsistent to me. At the opening of the story, Adrian has just met a distraught Leia in a bar and decided to engage in some role play which ends in an awesome night that none of them have ever had.

Ethnically, she is Surinamese even though if you would like to be more specific, she is Indo-Surinamese. Her grandparents had moved from India to Suriname under the guise of indentured labor in the 1800s. Zane Windsor always loved the way Celeste Harrison’s eyes light up when he infuriates her. It just took him years to realize that what he felt for his childhood rival wasn’t hatred. When he saw Aria in action, he had no choice but to offer her a job and a place to live at his penthouse in Silicon Valley. But Aria has a dark secret.When I started this book It seemed pretty straight forward. Girl gets treated badly so she gets revenge sleeping with his older brother. But it’s so much more then that! I loved it so much and highly recommend reading especially if you love these… Catharina Maura who is otherwise known as CA Maura when writing paranormal romance is a fantasy and paranormal romance author. Over the many years that she has been actively writing romance, she has made a reputation for writing bestselling billionaire romances that her readers love for the small hint of the forbidden.
