Due to COVID restrictions during 2020, when we got our hands on this great little tent we weren’t allowed to take it away camping. Though, most of the time, the loose groundsheet does not attach to the main / side doors, so there ALWAYS be a gap between the groundsheet and the door.

I also appreciate the brow over the side door of the Berghaus Air 4 and the front door of the Quechua Air Seconds 4. We found that the inside of the tent was light enough to happily sit around in the living/porch space. Strongly suggested to get hold of a footprint and/or a carpet to protect the groundsheet, so this add-on should be considered. I am not entirely sure, but the Berghaus Air 4 is still not an expensive 4-berth tent, if you look at the 4-person small family air tents by the likes of Vango, Outwell or Kampa etc.The large front door is fitted with a mesh backing and provides excellent ventilation in hot weather.

There are good reports on the wind-stability of the Eurohike Genus 400; however, there are always a lot of other factors that can affect the stability of the tent in high winds, not just the tent itself. Speaking of the loose groundsheet: if you pitched the tent carefully it is unlikely that water would come through there. One peculiar detail is that its 3 air beams are positioned from outside and you can see them in the pictures.With it’s fast pitch time, excellent living area and light pack size, the Genus 400 is a breeze to erect and it might just see you getting away camping more often than ever.

The fabric is 100 % polyester: it is soft and more importantly is breathable, condensation can pass through easier. Well, 8-person on paper, but still, the Eurohike Genus 800 has two bedrooms, which is exactly twice as many as the Eurohike Genus 400 or the Quechua Air Seconds 4. It weighs less than 10kgs, sleeps 4 persons (60cm for each person); however, it lacks headspace and – quite understandably – not very generous on the living space either. Again, depending on how many people are going to use it, and what their relationship is…I mean, if you are camping with two smaller children it may be perfectly fine, as long as you don’t mind sleeping close to each other. There’s a great waterproof rating here too, matching the Vango below, with a ‘dry-setup’ structure ensuring the inner section stays dry if you have the misfortune of pitching up in the rain.The waterproofing is excellent, and the Heimplanet Original Cave is also the best festival tent for withstanding wind speeds of up to 110mph.
