If you are open to a slightly darker option, then I think #4 could be great on you since it has the rosy undertone that you like in the By Terry Light Expert #1. The swatches above are pretty true-to-life in terms of tone and depth…for reference, I wear #7 in the winter months (at my palest). The formula of the By Terry foundations are like no other, the IMC® Technology (Intensive Mimetic Camouflage) in the foundation ensures that the foundation adapts to your skin with optimal coverage but with a natural looking and velvety finish. Coverage: Densiliss is definitely a medium coverage finish. It's matte, but imagine that radiance that Lumiere Veloutee had, but on steroids. Your skin has a serious halo. It blurs imperfections and lines like LV does, but your skin still shows through. There's some aspect of transparency where it highlights your skins best features, all the while covering the imperfections. LV in comparison just covered everything. NW stands for "neutral warm" which MAC feels best describes skin tone that is generally pink/rosy in undertone. To answer your last question, if you tend to have more yellow undertones in your skin (like I do…generally your veins are greenish), then you'd be a "NC" in MAC and a want a foundation that has yellow/golden warmer tones. If you tend to have more rosy/pink undertones in your skin (generally your veins are bluish), then you'd probably be a "NW" in MAC and want a foundation that has neutral beige to rosy beige undertones.

As already mentioned earlier, it has a really light/thin consistency. Most runny foundations I have tried are either light coverage or have a dewy finish which I am not a fan of. Thankfully, this foundation provides adequate coverage, has a velvet (non-dewy) finish and you can hardly feel it on your skin when it is applied. It has a slight fragrance which does not bother me but I think it may be annoying to some people. Despite this fragrance, I have not had any breakouts or allergies so I am guessing it may be suitable for people with sensitive skin but I can't really say. It sets into a lovely matte/velvet finish which is not drying at all on the skin and I don't think it will cling to any dry patches if you have dry skin (I have oily combo skin). I still set it lightly with a powder. You can apply this with your fingers but I use my favourite Buffing Brushes ( Real Techniques, Nanshy or Sephora Multi Tasker) and when I have time during the weekends, I use my Beauty Blender which gives the best results. For captivating lashes, try Mascara Terrybly with Lumicoat Care technology for growth and exceptional volume. Collagen Hyaluronic Acid leaves lashes silky, film-forming polymers provide curvature, and extra-fine pigments deliver deep colour. slightest bit orange) as well. It just depends on the route you want to go; I would say, however, with us being in the midst of summer, that #4 or #7 will probably work just fine if you feel like your skin tone is similar to mine (as based on the picture found in the link above).I am very similar in skin tone to you and (as my summer tan is fading) wear KGD OC-2 with a little BE-1 mixed in, Ellis Faas 104 (with maybe a little 103 mixed in) and By Terry in #9 (currently have that on today!). I can top it off with my NARS foundation powder in Santa Fe and it is a perfect match! Oddly enough, the differences between By Terry #7, #8 and #9 are negligible but if you are a true NC 30 (and will be stay that way all winter), then I think you will be just fine with #8 or even #9 (#7 will probably be too light as it is closer to a NC 25). If it helps, #8 is slightly more neutral beige, while #9 is slightly warmer/more golden (though they are both definitely more warm than cool). I think that you could either go with a #1 or #3 in the By Terry foundation. To be fair, my swatches are of the By Terry Cover Expert, not Sheer Expert, but I am fairly certain that they are parallel with one another in terms of shade and depth (e.g., the level of coverage is the only difference).

I’m talking about the fine brand By Terry, founder Terry de Gunzburg has worked for years with Yves Saint Laurent as a Makeup Designer and she is the inventor of the famous Touche Éclat (need I say more!). The brand By Terry has grown into a popular brand with very fine products, I’m particularly a fan of her foundations Sheer-Expert and Cover-Expert. The foundations are very similar in formula but I’m reviewing the Cover Expert because it has SPF 15 in it and I think nowadays that’s very important in my foundation. NC stands for "neutral cool" which MAC feels best describes skin tone that is generally golden/yellow in undertone. Thank you, Love Shines!! I have had personal experiences with all of the foundations you list except for the Aveda Mineral Dual Foundation, so I am going to give this my best try! Little did I know, Terry herself was revamping the formulation of Lumiere Veloutee. What prompted her to do so, I have no idea as to theexact reason. What I can say is that Terry herself takes pride in always reformulating her items for it to be better, more efficient, and more effortless. Some people may hate her for constantly changing her lineup, but I can't be mad, she's always on the search for something better. Two years later...it's finally here. I know die-hard fans who used to use Lumiere Veloutee are asking the question, "Is it Lumiere Veloutee's (LV) replacement"? Thanks so much for the question. Based on the fact that you wear Santa Fe in Nars, I think that #9 in Cover Expert will probably work. It is a hair darker than #8 (which is a touch darker than #7, which is about NC 23-25). In other words, #7, #8 and #9 are all very close in tone and depth (I am betting you could get away with wearing any of them).By Terry was established in 1998 by make-up artist Terry de Gunzburg, the trailblazing industry legend, who over the past 30 years has changed the face of beauty. After spending 15 years as Creative Director at Yves Saint Laurent, where she created the cult classic Touche Eclat concealer pen, she decided to launch her own collection of products and so By Terry was born. This ultra-luxurious collection of makeup and skin care products has become a modern day favourite, as it combines convenience with efficacy seamlessly to leave a professional quality finish every time. The Cover Expert Perfecting Foundation optimises the skin, masking the appearance of blemishes whilst simultaneously reducing the signs of fatigue. This lightweight foundation protects the skin from harmful UV rays and provides an enhanced, younger looking appearance. To use: Apply to the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin blending with the fingertips. Product quality is again a very important factor, whether you’re looking for something sturdy in the short-term or a product that is going to provide long-term durability, quality will be a consideration for you. Buying from a brand like By Terry will of course help as they’re so well known for their quality. Since you like Light Expert #1 (which has a very rosy undertone), #1 (which has a slight pink undertone) could be a good match. #3 is still very fair, but has a subtle yellow undertone (that, in my experience, does NOT oxidize to an unappealing orange or yellow)…it is, however, obviously more yellow than the the pinker #1 but a little closer to the NARS in Finland. I think that #2 might be too light in light of what you already are matched with–it has an almost white cast (as you can see in my images).
