My heart breaks for what Madison has been through and i feel like a lot of people - especially women - will relate to the dark parts she decided to share in this memoir. For me, that's even more valuable than just finding your other half; it's finding a part of yourself along the way.

Over the past decade, she has navigated the spotlight as a child, through her teenage years, and now as a young woman in her twenties. It's Madison Beer's journal with a few "Ask Amy" style sections and a handful of journal prompts for the reader. At the end of the day, I would give it 5 stars based on the themes, the vulnerability, the gentleness and the overall reading experience, but I believe that, from an objective point of view and in terms of the writing and the structure, it deserves 3 stars. We're about the same age (she's younger than me by around 4 months) and I found myself relating a lot to what she went through, and this made me reflect on my life as well, so it's possible the book achieved a part of what it set out to do.

it has taken me a lot of extremely dark times to get here but i feel incredibly ready to tell you these chapters of my story.my favourite part was when she mentioned her friend lena, probably because it was actually a good wholesome nice part of the book. Long winded review incoming: As a teenager I was raised in a very conservative house by a mother who often criticized other women, especially the beautiful and famous. The more I paid attention to her songs, the more I wanted to know her story; finding out she wrote a memoir was the perfect way to do it without relying on gossip sites or social media and letting them dictate what I learned about her.

I want to begin this review by stating that I will not review the contents of a memoir, because it is someone’s life. I was a diehard Justin Bieber fan and, seeing that he kept promoting her and her song, I decided to check it out. I appreciate her awareness that there are more heartbreaking stories out there, especially when it comes to the intersectionality of privilege involved, but when a woman who “has it all” is still not immune to the devastating and let’s be honest LIFE THREATENING affects of misogyny we should acknowledge that as a huge alarm ball and really consider what it means for women far less privileged than her living under the same system she describes. The truth is women have far more in common with each other than a patriarchal culture would like us to believe- hence the reason women have only just begun TALKING to one another (honestly) finally. After going viral at just twelve years old, Madison Beer publicly navigated the transition from childhood star to global entertainer, undergoing a record-breaking run as an independent artist before signing with Epic Records and releasing her long-awaited debut album, Life Support, in 2021.She talks about how careful she is when she opens up because she doesn't want to be seen as ungrateful or out of touch with reality (since, you know, other people have it worse and all that). This book encouraged me to be more gentle, kind, patient, empathetic and understanding towards not only others, but myself as well. I'm not sure if she'll ever read this, but I really hope that this entire writing process served as some kind of healing for her and I pray that she is in a much better place right now.

I hope she releases another book in the future because, indeed, that is just another one of her many talents.people really don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors and to read her being so vulnerable makes me so proud of her. I really enjoyed the fact that she doesn't blame all of her struggles on her fame, but rather that such things could happen to anyone and that "normal" people like us are not weird at all for feeling a certain type of way.
