When it comes to the videos, 4K-60 FPS recording is here in addition to the fantastically sharp and cinematic 8K-24 FPS mode. The auto-framing feature isn't all that well refined, but the ability to pause the recording to continue recording a bit later is a great feature. Performance and Battery Life Samsung has equipped all members of its S22 line with one of its latest mobile chipsets. In the US, that’s the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while outside the US and Asia the Galaxy S22 runs on Samsung’s own Exynos 2200. Both processors are paired with 8GB of RAM, and either 128GB or 256GB storage.

For Super Fast Charging function, we recommend using the original Samsung Power Adapter and data cable, sold separately. For best results, use 45W Power Adapter with Galaxy S22 Ultra and S22+ and 25W Power Adapter for Galaxy S22. Translation speed may vary depending on internet connection and word count. This function is limited to selected languages. For the full list of languages please visit http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/apps/bixby/vision/ That’s not 45W charging, and we’re not the only reviewers who’ve found issues with Samsung’s claims of 45W charging. It seems that the powering speed is closer to 20W, which really isn’t good for a phone that costs this much. The Galaxy S22 Plus went on sale February 25 in the US, March 3 in Australia and March 11 in the UK. If you are someone who prefers Android, has a lavish budget and prefers large displays over compact form factors, then the S22 Ultra is certainly a no-brainer among the 2022 models. Featuring an almost undeniably beautiful design, the S22 Ultra comes with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, running at 3088 x 1440 pixel resolution and resulting in a 500 per-pixel-inch clarity. With a dynamic refresh rate that goes from 1Hz all the way up to 120Hz, it offers fantastic functionality and vivid colours with everything you may possibly do on the phone. With the peak brightness of 1750 nits and Samsung's Vision Booster technology, the display performs great even under direct sunlight and stays comfortably bright whenever you may need it. Moreover, there is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner placed on the bottom half of it and said to be quite secure. Link to Windows is preloaded on select Galaxy devices. Some Link to Windows features may require Galaxy smartphone to be on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the PC. Both chipsets are paired with 5G modems, so both of these phones let you connect to next-gen networks which is useful for streaming and gaming on the go.

Availability may vary by app. Available only on smart TVs that support Miracast. Requires set up on your Samsung Galaxy device. Go to Smart View > Settings > Labs > Allow all apps to be cast. Certain resolutions and ratios may not be supported. Certain functions may not be available when Auto Framing is on. Only people can be recognized, and there is a limit to how many people may be recognized. And in many other areas, this is a powerful phone, with a top-end chipset, decent battery life and great main camera.

FHD+ is fine for most tasks though, as only select streaming services or games offer content that’s a higher resolution than that anyway. There’s also a refresh rate of 120Hz, which means motion looks pretty smooth when you’re swiping between menus or playing games. Proximity Sensor, Hall Effect Sensor, Light Sensor, Gyroscope Sensor, Accelerometer (G-Sensor), Magnetometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor The Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with Vision Booster on Galaxy S22 and S22+ received a certification from VDE Germany for 100 percent Mobile Color Volume in the DCI-P3 color range, which means your images aren’t washed out and you’ll get unbelievably vivid colors regardless of differing levels of brightness. The display can achieve peak brightness of up to 1750 nits on Galaxy S22+ and 1300 nits on Galaxy S22 improving the contrast between dark and light aspects of digital content for a more brilliant picture quality, with a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio on Galaxy S22+ and a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio on Galaxy S22 to make your mobile experience more immersive. Either way, that’s a supremely expensive smartphone - but then again, Samsung’s S-series devices aren’t designed for people on a budget.

That camera combination is somewhat of a remix of the S21’s sensors, with only the ultra-wide and front-facers the same, and the most notable difference is the jump from a 12MP to 50MP main camera. HDR, Panorama, Stereo Recording, Bokeh Mode, AI Features, Night Mode, Scene Detection, Slow Motion, Time Lapse

While the cameras of the Galaxy S22 are slightly better overall, there are some interesting things to note here as not the entire module is an upgrade over the previous model and there are some unexpected downgrades with some sensors. The overall sensor design is superior in the S22, which is always great to see - the main lens goes from 12 MP to 50 MP too. But then the telephoto lens goes from 64 MP to 10 MP for some unknown reason. At least the optical zoom is now bumped up to 1.3x here from 1.1x. We know that megapixels aren't everything, but it's still a huge drop in photo resolution. Still, the overall photo quality is very satisfying. For their enthusiasts, the Single Take and Dual View modes are still here too. When we benchmarked the Galaxy S22 against the S22 Ultra, we found the Geekbench scores to be essentially equal. Both phones’ scores are still generally lower than Apple's A16 Bionic’s, though. speeds vary and require optimal network and connection (factors include frequency, bandwidth, congestion); see carrier for availability. As you may already know, the UK models feature a different chipset than the American and Chinese models in the name of Exynos 2200 rather than Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Both series of chipsets are developed by Samsung, but there can sometimes be slight differences in performance between them. Regardless, Samsung promises up to 5% better processing performance for routine tasks whereas the graphics performance has seen a 40% bump and, impressively, the neural processing unit's performance gains are around an astounding 130%. This means the phone will certainly perform better than S21 and it will be significantly smarter in many cases like battery management. Battery Capacity: Could Have Been Better The screen also promises to boost touch sampling (the speed at which it will recognize and respond to touch) for Game Mode. We had no responsiveness issues, but we also haven't noticed any gaming sluggishness in other flagship phones we've tested this year.

Requires optimal connection. Actual speed may vary depending on country, carrier and user environment. The Samsung Galaxy S22 is the kind of phone you get if your tastes are upscale but your budget is a bit downrange. Its 6.1-inch screen can feel cramped if you’re coming from virtually any similarly-priced Android phone from OnePlus and Xiaomi. However, placed side-by size with an iPhone 14, the dimensions are similar – and the resemblance is uncanny. Network or Wi-Fi connection required. Each device should be registered with a single Samsung Account.
