Description

Naoki Shimomura, Student B, becomes a shut-in because he believes he has contracted AIDS from drinking the contaminated milk. His mother realizes her son was involved in Manami's death and decides to commit murder-suicide to free both of them from their torment. However, in the ensuing struggle, Naoki kills his mother and the police arrest him. Meanwhile, Shuya explains that his mother abused him before leaving to pursue her scientific career. Her abandonment drove him to thrive in science, from making small inventions to recording his killing and dissecting of animals. Kitabın çevirisi, ne yazık ki ingilizceden. Arada, düşük anlamlı cümleler karşınıza çıkıyor ve bence çevirinin çevirisi olduğunu arada hissediyorsunuz. Her şeye rağmen bu durumu görmezden gelebiliyorsunuz okurken. Confessions’ revolves around the revenge plot contrived by a middle school teacher Yuko Moriguchi. Her four-year daughter Manami accidentally dies on the school grounds but on further investigation, she learns it wasn’t an accident. Heartbroken, she decides to resign but during her last lecture to the class, she reveals the truth about the incident and sets in motion a plan to avenge her daughter. The story showcases the lives of the people in the aftermath of her confession. It's amazing how much the human brain is able to remember, how much you hold onto in life, but when you write something down, you can forget about it—you no longer have to hold it inside. Remember the good things; write the bad ones down in here and forget about them.”

While on the subject of the characters, they all feel like people you may have run across during your high school days. The leading killer does occasionally step into cliché motivation territory, but there’s enough substance to accommodate for it.Graphics, WSJ com News. "Best Books of 2014: A Compilation". The writing is clear and precise, the plot is always engaging, and there’s plenty to think about long after reading. As you read through, a new awakening is discovered, creating an ever increasingly complex scenario around which to ponder. Weak people find even weaker people to be their victims. And the victimized often feel that they have only two choices: put up with the pain or end their suffering in death. But they're wrong. The world you lives in is much bigger than that. If the place in which you find yourself is too painful, I say you should be free to seek another, less painful place of refuge. There is no shame in seeking a safe place. I want you to believe that somewhere in this wide world there is a place for you, a safe haven.” No form of revenge could have made me hate you any less. If I had cut the two of you to shreds with a knife, I think I would have hated the little pieces of you just the same. I realized that revenge was never going to wash away what had happened, never going to make me stop hating you with every ounce of my being.” This is where Minato’s writing style comes into its own. The passing between the teachers opening thoughts, a student within her class, and then the two killers gives a well-rounded view of the situation. There are references to both Dostoyevsky and Camus, both of whom wrote novels about the deeper recesses of human behaviour. Yet it’s in Minato’s inscription that the fictional writing becomes real and tormented. Whereas here predecessors now feel outdated and long-winded, she instead goes straight to the heart of the matter. The story centres on a teacher, Yuko Moriguchi whose daughter Manami is found to have drowned in the school swimming pool. On the last day of term, she decides to tell the class the truth. Manami wasn’t drowned by accident, and the culprits are members of her class. I highly recommend the audio version of this if you can find it. It’s a very well-spent 6 ½ hours of your time. Each chapter is essentially a monologue: be it a lecture, a letter, a diary, a confession, etc and so the format of listening works especially well here. (At the time of this review, it was available as an audiobook on Hoopla for me)Y qué decir de ese final, a mi me ha dejado impactada, sublime y desgarrador. It’s a dark story about dysfunctional families, obsession, cruelty, the quest for love, the quest for revenge. When we think about children, we always picture them as some kind of sweet and innocent beings but this book shows just how much of cruelty they are capable of and are able to get away with. It also highlights the role of the family, society, and environment in shaping them. The story is unpredictable and full of twists and is topped off with an unexpected ending! Without naming them, but giving significant cues to whom they are, Moriguchi sets off a chain of events that will change their lives beyond recognition.
