L’aventure and CDNIM both smell like the better batches of Aventus that Creed use to make a few years back which is why I own both of them because It’s like owning 2 different batches of Aventus to me lol I love both of these tho. In my experience, its more mass appealing than CDNIM since it doesn't have the heavy birch tar note. I've tried over-spraying on skin, I've tried over-spraying on clothes, I've tried layering with it to help the fragrance last (The fragrance I layer with always remains yet L'aventure is completely gone), I've tried using tester strips to see if the fragrance would last because maybe I was going nose blind but, no it vanishes on them as well. About two years ago I gave my 2017 bottle to a co-worker of mine with the idea that he could wear it more often than me. Me personally I like the smoky batches better (CDNIM) but I also like the more well-rounded batches (L’aventure) so I tend to switch up a lot lol L’aventure isn’t really smoky, it’s more musky in the dry down, not real dark and more fruity it’s really really nice in the air and you’ll garner the same amount of compliments wearing this as you would wearing CDNIM, I do at least. Once Al Haramain L’Aventure Men EDP has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, woody, and smoky fragrance with soft citrus accords. This one becomes very bitter, almost scaring away, which I think translates (misleading) into a smoky aspect for some people.

I have the batch no BH170318011604(2018) and tested along with the oldest BH:240916011604(2016), it's just plain aftershave. The family company supplies natural essential oils (attars), perfumes for the home and classic perfumes, and other interesting goods. At first it smells floral, I couldn't pin point the other note though, but looking at the notes it is DEFINTELY the elemi note.Top notes are Lemon, Bergamot and elemi; middle notes are Woody Notes, Jasmine and Lily-of-the-Valley; base notes are Musk, Patchouli and Amber. Pineapple is not listed as a note but it is definitely there, so there is no need to worry about that.
