Last year I bought a small lightweight porch awning to use when away for a few days. It's easy to put up, surprisingly watertight and does the job. The one thing that is needed are awning rail stoppers to keep it in position when the wind decides to blow strongly. Quite agree,we use the Isabella ones with no problems,not cheap as Isabella tends to be but you pays your money etc.
