The Princess 42 Li is an impressive hand-propelled battery-powered mower with every feature you need to produce a perfect lawn finish. The recently serviced Volvo Penta D6-370 diesels have covered just 374 hours use ( July 2022 ) and have the reassurance and economy of a shaft drive set up. Much as all three are lovely boats, the sealine is technically complex and the jury is still out that IPS drives really save fuel, but the servicing is definitely expensive,so factor in any expected fuel saving against service cost and long term reliability. Unless you plan on doing thousands of miles it probably isn't worth it. We have recently taken delivery of a new Princess 42 flybridge which I think I`m right in saying is the same (give or take) as a 2005 model. The main consensus is that it's all about what you don't see. Apparently the Sealine's hull is not constructed so well and in the build things are just glued instead of screwed and glued.I'm sure, that from the above, you can tell that we had decided to go for the Sealine - so what's the problem? Now, after speaking to various people, rep from Ancasta and Fairline rep, who we felt were giving 'fair' views on each product, we are unsure. The sealine has the most corners cut/economies made on the build. This is perfectly fine - you pays yer money and takes yer choice. You said you're happy with the interior finishes but you might wanna look again - the walnut "veneer" is printed melamine in many places, not real wood veneer. The princess has real wood veneer on the outside, but printed melamine board inside wardrobes etc. The Fairline is all real wood

If you’ve been looking to replace your electric lawn mower with something of a similar standard, you won’t go far wrong with this mower. Conclusion the trouble with boats is that they are half sea going boat and half caravan/country cottage. You are in a lovely position buying new - but although the fairline and sealine interiors are new/fashionable etc when you go travelling its the boats ability that you will remember - especially if the wind changes and it gets a bit rougher than you might have liked. I also felt there was a bit too much vinyl and a bit too little wood inside for it to feel a quality item. Little things like a rather cramped entry into the engine room via a shared lazarette / engine room hatch rather than the Princess` separate engine and lazarette hatches sort of sum things up.The spacious flybridge includes a comfortable entertaining area with ample seating around a table, double helm seat and separate sun-bed aft. New fuel tanks (upgraded marine spec aluminium and upgraded from 3mm to 4mm) – supplied by Pheonix 316 And that’s the real advantage with this system. It’s not some anonymous call centre, you get through to someone that really knows the boats, understands the issues and can put a swift and effective plan into operation. And the guys they send out don’t just know how to fix the problems, they know how to treat the boat. Leon has been on our boat before, servicing the engines. On the Princess 42 that means moving furniture, removing carpets and opening hatches in the saloon floor. But afterwards there’s never anything out of place, not even a finger mark to show he’s been. Even the bilges are left immaculate”.
