That said, it’s not that big of a deal, so I don’t really have a problem with increasing the player count. After each player has placed all twenty tiles, the landscape creation is complete and based on the placement of the trees in relation to the completed circles, the player with the most points wins!

The tree tokens look great, the tiles are bright and vivid and colorful, and even the backs of the tiles are fun to look at. While the box recommends the game for ages 8+, we feel that even younger kids can enjoy a round or two as long as an adult is present to explain the rules. We mainly cover Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Age of Sigmar, Warmachine, Hordes, X-Wing, Infinity, Horus Heresy, and Star Wars Armada.I usually try to have spaces of each color that I don’t care about so that I don’t always have to attach a big, open tile to an area that I want to complete by the end of the game. The architect player throws away 5 of his stack at random and the rest of the players build face up based on the random draws of the architect. The mechanics are simple enough to teach a new player in a matter of minutes, yet it still has enough depth to keep seasoned gamers happy. As with most tile-laying games, the two edges of the tiles you connect must match and you have to place a tile such that it matches up edge-to-edge against another tile. Each non-purple edge of a tile has a half-circle on it; when two such edges are placed together, the owner of those tiles has created a “cookie” in that area.

That’s kind of what makes the game interesting, to me, but I can see this being a bit frustrating for other players, as with similar skill levels / building types, the game may come down to one tile or one tree poorly placed. They score two points per full rune if the area is closed in and will only score one point if the area still has any open edges.The first edition of 8bit MockUp included tiles for 2-4 players, while the second edition included tiles for 2-5 players. If you have no half-circles in this area — that is, the area is completely enclosed — then you score 2 points for each cookie in that area.
