Description

He’s the provider of a catchphrase synonymous with the Looney Tunes franchise and one which has been moved into popular culture. Porky more portly belly is achieved with print detail and it doesn’t look too bad to be honest, especially when you compare it to Pooh Bear from the latest Ideas set. His tail is also printed, which is a shame as a curly tailpiece would have been welcomed. Porky’s accessory is a sign displaying his ‘That’s All Folks’ catchphrase, it couldn’t really be anything else. Speedy Gonzales is also known as the Fastest Mouse in Mexico, and is a heroic favourite of mine. Making his debut in 1953, Speedy is known for his bright red Sombrero, and high-speec antics and has gone through quite the journey in recent times. That said, like with all blind bag boxes, and the chance that production errors can occur, there seems to be a greater than 0 chance that you might not receive complete sets with each box purhase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Some good and bad news on the box distribution front. First of all, there will be 12 characters to collect, which seems to be the standard now, and there should be 3 complete sets in each box. Also, Lola Bunny is massive when placed next to the LEGO NBA players. Kobe has no chance of defending against Lola Bunny one on one. I do wish they gave us a more interesting accessory than a carrot, but Bugs Bunny is always seen munching on carrots delivering his signature “What’s up doc?” line, so it does fit his character. LEGO® Minifigures characters will appeal to any boy or girl aged 5 and up, sparking their imagination and helping them develop creativity and confidence through individual play or with friends.

If you think Road Runner is bad, wait till you see Tweety, the dimunitive little yellow canary that’s constantly harassed by Sylvester. LEGO take on some of the most iconic and historic animated characters from Warner Bros, and this series is bound to ignite some really fond memories especially for those of us that grew up on Looney Tunes. They got every detail right from his bright green roman helmet, complete with a yellow “broom plume”, to his lime gree blaster and even his skirt. With iconic characters like Bugs, LEGO has one job which is to get his design right, and they’ve done their job here as this is unmistakeably Bugs, with his tall pointy ears, and grey fur. LEGO Looney Tunes Minifigures will be officially released on 26 April 2021, but depending on where you live, some stores have already started selling them. There is a juxtaposition to Marvin, as the aggressive and destructive nature of his ambition has always been balanced against the mild-mannered, matter-of-fact delivery of his dialogue. It gave the character a relatable innocence and made any number of his lines memorable, including the likes of ‘Isn’t that lovely?’, ‘This makes me very angry, very angry indeed’ and ‘Where’s the kaboom? There was supposed to be an Earth-shattering kaboom!’ Used a few times more as a supporting role to Porky, as his popularity fell, Petunia fared even worse and dropped out of semi-regular use for long stretches. She continues to appear on merchandising and take on supporting roles in various Looney Tunes-related shows and features, but very much remains the most peripheral player in this LEGO line-up. Her minifigure perfectly resembles her (just as she resembles Porky – don’t think about it too hard) and comes complete with teapot and teacup. We can’t find the reference for why.

How to find one: Feel for the 2 x 4 tile which is the only one of its type, and should be pretty easy to feel for. In 71030 Looney Tunes Collectible Minifigures, the LEGO Group has curated a selection of characters that resonates across Looney Tunes’ long history, including some of the most classic and recognisable ones but – perhaps for a couple of reasons – it leaves some others out. Bugs Bunny Introduced in 1996’s feature film Space Jam as a love interest for Bugs Bunny (because previous female rabbit character Honey Bunny was judged to look too similar to Bugs), Lola was depicted as a confident and talented female protagonist with a natural talent for sport, before The Looney Tunes Show morphed her into a more eccentric, absent-minded-but-still-sporty personality.

As the lead star of Looney Tunes, LEGO Bugs Bunny had to be done right so we could accept LEGO Looney Tunes as a credible Collectible Minifigures series. Thankfully, that’s very much the case, and just as thankfully, those ears should make him very easy to feel out in the blind bags… There are certainly more obscure minifigures in this series, and other characters who have required as much artistic interpretation to enter LEGO form, but if there’s one in the LEGO Looney Tunes Collectible Minifigures line-up that perhaps is unnecessary, it is that of Tweety. They’re my favourite new accessory introduced in this series, and I can see LEGO fans going nuts for them. The choice to do a Looney Tunes minifigures series is quite an interesting one by LEGO, as these characters aren’t the household names that they used to be, but with a new Space Jam movie and rebooted animated series, perhaps it’s time for Bugs Bunny and gang to reclaim the limelight. Final Thoughts: So I enjoyed the Looney Tunes minifigures series a lot more than I thought I would, mostly because I loved the nostalgic feelings evoked by these minifigures. He’s been retrieved from the hole at the bottom of a ravine in Billund and after a slight delay, the aptly named Wile E. Coyote has arrived and joins the rest of the gang. As with his Looney buddies, Wile has a unique head element, which is based on Wile’s classic style. Wile use the same bushy tail element as Taz and his accessory is a disappointingly small anvil. Her choice of accessory – an orange sphere is also a little disappointing, as I’d have liked a proper basketball accessory, with lines printed on it for added realism.Lego Group (30 March 2016).
