Pak's other work includes "Planet Hulk," "World War Hulk," "Mech Cadet Yu," "Ronin Island," "Action Comics," and "Magneto Testament. Coining the phrase "gun-fu" to describe one of the fighting styles often used in John Wick, Stahelski has blended influences from around the world to create a singular universe that simultaneously relies on ancient storytelling methods while creating something new.

Pak co-wrote the fan favorite "Incredible Hercules" series with Fred Van Lente, with whom he also wrote the new How-To book, "Make Comics Like the Pros. And its critical and commercial success led to two sequels — John Wick: Chapter 2 in 2017 and John Wick: Chapter 3 Parabellum in 2019.However I would have loved it if Pak dived deeper into Wick's past; the developement of the story isn't great and it left me with more questions than answers. The mini-series acts as a sort of origin to John's life as a hitman as it depicts his early interactions with the assassin community and how he earned his moniker, Baba Yaga. The artwork was serviceable, I liked how the artists drew John Wick as he looks very much how he does in the films.

But when it comes to the fight scenes in particular, Chad Stahelski has opted for a much higher level of realism than many other action films. Outside of murdering all the men in the hotel, John left them alive, which seems to be the only separation between his comic book and film identity. Furthermore, and it pains me to say his because I am a fan of Greg Pak, the writing feels more like a lackluster copy of Derek Kolstad's screenplays rather than an extension of them.Upon release, he was manipulated into joining the underground crime world operating out of the Continental Hotel chain. Ultimately, I was disappointed in this one, but would be interested in giving the next volume a shot, provided there is one and that it improves on this initial outing.

This is continued in Chapter 2 as Wick's immediate attempts to retreat back into retirement are thwarted by Santino. So I am a huge fan of the John Wick films, the original was such a great film and its sequel was pretty good! So far, minimalism has been incredibly effective in keeping audiences riveted to the John Wick series. The influence of Western ballet on the John Wick franchise also folds perfectly into the wuxia style of action filmmaking.

John breaks the rule by killing Santino on the hotel premises, forcing Winston to declare him " excommunicado", meaning that Continental and the associated underworld services are no longer afforded to him.

John walks into a diner in El Paso, Texas rocking a look similar to his Chapter 2 style, minus the fine suit. The spin-off, crossover and Continental series are all still in development, and the brief foray into VR wasn't highly praised.
