If you’re looking for those Caribbean vibes while staying in the British Isles this year, then Herm Island is the place for you. 12. Find peace and tranquillity in the Orkney Isles Find peace and tranquillity in the Orkney Isles If you’re interested in learning more about the wine at Denbies, you can take a tour of the vineyard. They also do wine tasting sessions too. For inspiration, we’d recommend reading our guide to the ultimate 10-day England itinerary. From the buzzy cities of London and Brighton, to the Cornwall coast and the stunning beauty of the Lake District, this route shows you the best of England. Another pub option if you want to break up your walk with a stop in Chenies, The Red Lion is currently open from Friday – Sunday. They serve a great Sunday roast if you’re planning to visit at the weekend. DeVere Latimer Estate, Latimer

Dinosaurs, whales, and volcanoes — oh my! You’ll find these fan favourites and much more at London’s Natural History Museum. This place feels a million miles away from the city and it’s so peaceful walking among the trees for an afternoon. Please note that customers are responsible for the cost of returning the item/s, unless incorrect or faulty. Loads of famous people hail from Essex. Jamie Oliver, Rupert Grint, David Gandy, Ross Kemp, Russell Brand, Sir Alistair Cook, Anne-Marie, Olly Murs, Dame Maggie Smith, Dame Helen Mirren – the list goes on and on. Dermot O’Leary also was born in Colchester, Essex.

There are a number of Epping Forest trails to choose from, but this one is definitely up there as my favourite. Suggested places to eat along the Oak Trail walk The Queen Victoria has a really big beer gardenIt’s one of the closest day hikes from London and will give you your countryside fix. It passes through the spectacular Chiltern Hills, glistening fields of wheat, sweeping valleys, past streams and the River Chess, as well as meandering past some picturesque English villages. As ever, if you have any questions about this walk or any of the other walks around Polesden Lacey, let us know in the comments below! The walk then passes by the imposing Latimer House, a historic mansion which has been transformed into the DeVere Latimer Estate luxury hotel. While the mansion is spectacular, the view over the river valley is even more special! I’m a massive history buff, so I loved the idea of having lunch in an old fort where the Romans once walked. More on that below. Section 3: Ambresbury Banks This is the Ambresbury Banks in Epping Forest

It’s a long walk but a great day out. This is one of our favourite walks we’ve done this year, so hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as we did! Once you come to a pond, cross the road, and keep on walking for about 5/10 minutes until you come to a folk – take the right fork. This will take you down a steep hill in enclosed woodland. Keep on following the path This is just past the right fork However, for the Epping Forest Oak Trail (which is what this post is all about), you’ll want to travel to Theydon Bois station. This is on the central line and it takes about 36 minutes from St Paul’s to Theydon Bois. The walk takes you through the beautiful countrysideWalk from the iconic chalk cross in Whiteleaf to the Prime Minister’s country residence, Chequers, and enjoy woodland strolls, epic views of the Chiltern Hills, and plenty of wildlife spotting opportunities too. The Stiperstones circular walk is 5.5 miles (9 kms) long that’ll take you around 2 to 3 hours to complete. For me, this is one of the best things to do in Shropshire.
