Knight Falchion go to album Notable shows: On 23/3/1984 they performed live for their first time at Σχολικό Συγκρότημα Γκράβας (Athens), along with 'Στρυχνίνες', 'Ghetto', ' Cpt Neφos', ' Metro Decay', ' Art Of Parties', ' Yell-O-Yell'&' Villa 21'. On 16/3/1985 they performed live at Πήγασος Club (Athens), along with ' Villa 21'. On 13/3/1987 they performed live at Muswell's Pub (Athens). On 17/9/1987 they performed live at Club 17 (Kiato, Korinthos), along with ' Συμμορία'. When he and his stories intersect, the results can be revealing, funny and surprisingly theatrical.... This Bukowski is no simple hero of the disenfranchised, and South of No North is most involving when it unfurls this rare psyche through such complex moments, when Bukowski keys into his pathetic characters with frightened identification and amused sympathy. Mr. Payne finds humor and pathos in the role.... Even his narration, with its languorous hold on words even as his sentences round to a close, suggests the writer's intoxication with the life of his mind. It is a rich performance.

South of No North was followed nearly a decade later by Bukowski's last collection solely devoted to short stories, Hot Water Music, but by then his power as a short story writer was waning. [ citation needed] He later admitted that "the short story had deserted me", though he was able to occasionally generate a gem like No Wing High (collected in the 1990 poetry and short story collection Septuagenarian Stew) in his later years.

Some of the works included in this collection are more vignettes than short stories. There is little in the way of development and in some cases the climax of the story is nonexistent or misfires. There are interesting settings, however, in many of these stories and as sketches many of them work well.
