Description
MAYBE the boards might fit other similarly sized mics, but i'll leave that up to others to find out, if they're curious (Apex 480 perhaps? I'll have a batch of 10 of each of the 4 pcb's manufactured in China (hey, it's CHEAP ;D ), so it might take a good few weeks for actual physical results.
A 'phantom box' or other source of phantom is needed for the BM800 when used as a conventional XLR-XLR connected mic. so the Capsule node option connects to I think a Transsound TSB-2555B or something like it, that has no JFET inside. The "separate" high-pass / phase-splitter PNP there makes for an easy implementation of a switchable high-pass with a single-pole switch. I like the look of the tapered board, so I decided to taper the boards for my Alice conversion, too, and put mounting holes in the boards to make use of the holes in the NW-800 frame.Instructables, Modify a Cheap LDC Condenser Microphone, namely: BM-800 Microphone Conversion Part 1 and Part 2.
We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. I think Q2 (SOT-23) and Q4 (TO-92) are for some JFET option where you have a condenser (non-electret) capsule - but R11/C2 are wrong for that. Most any condenser mic needs some sort of 'phantom' to power the internal electronics (preamp) of the mic including an electret. Unauthorized use and/or duplication of this material without express and written permission from this site’s author and/or owner is strictly prohibited. I drew the schematic, measured voltages and conclude a transistor is defective and the circuit is plain silly. If this is the case, then you have the right as a consumer to make use of the 30-day refund policy or to request compensation. I thought about trying to switch the XLR point in the microphone but I don't know if that will change anything. Haven't yet put those to use Aside from work, i've been messing around with the real life version of a 2-transistor buck converter, that's a part of the circuitry on that class-D amp board.
Couldn't care less, it will get removed anyway, to allow room for the cutouts for the pattern / pad / high-pass switches. The mic seems to be the ultimate Millennial/blogger bait, lots of glitter and wires but doesn't perform. As it is a condenser microphone, it captures more detail and low volumes than your typical dynamic microphone. The microphone has a frequency response range of 20Hz-20kHz, and testing confirmed this – the microphone was able to pick up very high and low frequency sounds – and a sensitivity of -34dB ±3dB. The circuit does not supply polarization voltage to the capsule; would-be DIY upgrade enthusiasts are limited to other electret choices, unless the mic’s circuit is replaced too. Still leery of running such a wide range of voltages through it, I tried all three configurations anyway.
