It has been a wee bit disappointing so far but it was never going to be on the same scale as the 50th or 40th. An additional promotional DVD was released in DWM 544 on 17 October 2019 as part of the magazine's 40th anniversary, though it is not part of the official 'The Collection' boxset run. Two of the most notable occasions include season five episode ten 'Vincent and the Doctor' where The Doctor brings Amy Pond and Vincent Van Gogh to look at his artwork in an exhibition, as well as season ten episode one 'The Pilot' in which it doubles as St Luke's University where The Doctor is working as a lecturer. Most notably though it hosted the Weeping Angles in season five episode four 'The Time of Angels' where The Doctor, Amy Pond, and River Song are chased through the Maze of the Dead. I’ve said it here before, and I know it’s a bit controversial – re-release all of the out of print sets, as HMV is already repeatedly doing with Season 12; instead of “Limited”, just call the main product “The Collection”. The " Osgood Box" was a device given to Osgood and her Zygon duplicate by the Doctor to use if the ceasefire between humans and Zygons broke down after a peace treaty was arranged. The two Osgoods recorded a brief video explaining the Osgood Box and its abilities before one of them was murdered by Missy. ( TV: The Zygon Invasion) Meighan, Michael (15 October 2011). Panini Magazines/ Hachette Partworks Ltd. p.134. it’s been half a year and we still don’t know what’s going on with this range, and due to reselling, I can fully empathise with fans that both don’t have the confidence to invest in catchup spending in the hundreds of pounds, while on the other hand not having a single clue what’s to become of this range.

The TARDIS also allows the Doctor and others to communicate with people who speak languages other than their own, as well as turn all written languages to English. The "translation circuit" (occasionally called the "translation matrix") was first explored in "The Masque of Mandragora" (1976), as the Doctor explained to his companion, Sarah Jane, "Well, I've taken you to some strange places before and you've never asked how you understood the local language. It's a Time Lord's gift I allow you to share. But tonight when you asked me how you understood Italian, I realized your mind had been taken over." The translation circuit has also been explored in comparison with real-world machine translation, with researchers Mark Halley and Lynne Bowker concluding that "when it comes to the science of translation technology, Doctor Who gets it wrong more often than it gets it right. However, perhaps we can forgive the artistic license if we recognize that, as in other science fiction works, the presentation of some type of ubiquitous translation tool is necessary to explain to the audience how people from other countries, time periods, and even other worlds, can understand each other and indeed appear to speak (mostly) flawless English." [15] In some cases, visual effects have been improved - improved exterior shots of the Pharos Project were used to replace models in some instances, including brand-new location shots filmed using drones. As with such improvements on the DVD range, these changes are optional and can be enabled or disabled at will. Serials have also been remixed in 5.1 surround where possible. I just question, what happens if the standard sets going forwards will be the ‘revised and corrected’ editions when it comes to the actual video/sound content. That swings it for me, that’s the actual product.

The episode's writer Steven Moffat confirmed that this line was an in-joke aimed at fans on "Internet forums". [29]

An iconic London landmark that doubled up as a Cybermen factory in season two episodes five and six 'Rise of the Cybermen' and 'The Age of Steel.' The relationship between PV and PM continues to intrigue. I can’t help thinking of Uncle Ian’s proposed location for Inferno, and that PM might actually believe material could be located there. (That’s a joke for the old timers.)
