The pen features a high-grade stainless steel nib and is available in a variety of sizes, ideal for choosing the perfect size for your handwriting style. I have marked the experience as 7 as I was not put off and nobody stopped me or moaned when I asked to open the box to look inside. So if you already have fountain pens like a Century 3776 or a sailor 1911, you really don't need these pens. Ergonomic body - Combining the balance and nib shape of the quill pen with the convenience of a modern fountain pen for comfortable grip. We bring that to life here at Conscious Craft by offering you the best natural toys and craft materials we can find.

Ideal for fine drawing, sketching, drafts and good for colouring large areas as they feature robust fibre tips for even and precise strokes. With nostalgia, with reliability, with the fact it has never let me down, despite there being pens out there worth hundreds of pounds with gold nibs etc etc etc, this for me, and has been for a large number of years my go-to pen. The one thing I wonder about is the clip - why on earth does the thing even have a clip, I can't imagine where it can be useful with this size. It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc.

Too thin for big fingers, too long to be taken seriously, there really is no need, even for an art pen to be so long. The lines are clean and distinct, but smooth enough on the edges for even new users to be comfortable with.

It isn't ugly, it isn't stunning it is quite functional in appearance and it did look as if it would work. If anyone has compared the platinum desk carbon Pen with the kdp 3000an and the Dp1000an, I will be very interested. I think the nibs on the Rotring come complete with the section a bit similar to the TWSBI idea, I haven't pulled that apart, ever, so I cannot tell you if it is possible. And it wasn't a pretty pen to begin with, because the section is a very light purple; that must have been some special edition, and surely a later production than yours. They are smooth, assuming you keep the nib aligned with the paper, and they are medium wet, so suitable for regular writing and practicing with.

So this pen has a wider channel (the slit in the feed) than other pens so there is less chance of ink getting stuck while in the pen. Adding the optional converter extends those opportunities as you can then use a much wider range of inks to suit your creative urges. At First Stop Stationers we’ve got everything you need from office stationery such as ballpoint pens and notebooks to luxury fine writing pens and much, much more.

The Rotring Art Pen is, to all intents and purposes, a fountain pen that’s intended for drawing and sketching. The nibs can be a little skippy on coated/smooth paper, which can be annoying, but overall they perform well. I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. Would rate higher, but sometimes the ink stops mid-flow, but that might be something that improves with practice.
