Finding exciting combinations of the Sweep & Post-Fader FX occupies hours of fun-filled DJing time! Key Shift & Match Credit: Denon DJ Both the XDJ-XZ and Prime 4 have multiple effects engines that can be used together. Both units have channel effects, called Sound Color effects on the XDJ-XZ sweep effects on the Prime 4. These effects are taken from their club mixer counterparts, the Pioneer DJ DJM-900 Nexus 2 and Denon DJ X1800 Prime.

The punch-in on/off and talk-over option comes in handy for DJs that double as an MC during their shows. Sweep FX & Mainstage Quality Post-Fader FX Credit: Denon DJIf your goal is to headline a huge music festival using what has now been considered the industry standard DJ set-up for roughly the last decade, the DDJ-1000SRT is the better choice. Its combination of mechanical jogwheels and club mixer section makes it the perfect tool to help build muscle memory that can translate to the kind of set-up you would see on a festival stage. The Prime 4’s mic section is a nice reprieve from minimal microphone features on most professional DJ controllers. This thing is built like a tank. It is metal throughout and feels luxurious in the same way that a luxury car does. Mint.

Dedicated beat jump controls taken from the SC5000 range of players are a much-welcomed feature. The Auto Loop knob does it’s job fine but it’s a little small and we prefer the dedicated buttons found on the Pioneer range of players. It’s not a deal-breaker but the buttons run no risk of adjusting the loop length as you push them in to activate, unlike this knob. You can control the level and 2 band EQ of the zone direct from the unit. If playing an internal playlist isn’t for you you can also send channel 4’s external source to the Zone. We can also see this feature being useful in smaller venues, the zone could output to the seating area, bar area or even the toilets and hallways. It’s a brand new concept and something we would love to see on more hardware in the future! The Zone output is handled by balanced XLR outputs. If you’re thinking about getting either of these excellent devices, read on for a comparison of their key features. Four-channel control The Prime 4 handles beat effects more like a DJ controller than a mixer. Above each of the jogwheels you will find effects controls like many modern DJ controllers. Each of these effects sections can have up to three effects chained. So at any time a DJ can have up to seven effects applied to a single source at the same time. It may sound like overkill, but the extra flexibility is appreciated. FinallyStorage and Media What options do I have to connect external drives and other storage devices to the PRIME 4?

You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. Large touchscreen displays can be found above the mixer section on both the XDJ-XZ and the Prime 4. The size and technology behind the two displays are completely different and affect the user experience of each unit. One of the standout features of the DDJ-1000SRT is the fact that its jogwheels are similar in size and feel to those found on club-standard CDJs. That means they’re full-sized, eight-inch mechanical jogs, and not the capacitive / touch-activated type found on most controllers, and that includes the Prime 4, which have smaller six-inch jogwheels. For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs.iTunes isn’t always configured to share its database with other applications. To configure iTunes to do so:

Zone control is another quality feature. It allows you to assign one of the 4 channels to play out of the zone output. This is perfect for a set playlist for a separate room. For example, if you are playing at a wedding venue you can have a certain playlist for outside or the bar. This is all separate from your main performance. All the components are top-notch, with the controller’s main body made from metal. That means it’s solid but hefty. Both the Pioneer DJ XDJ-XZ and Denon DJ Prime 4 have the kind of build quality a DJ would expect from a flagship piece of gear. The Prime 4 has a mostly metal build while the XDJ-XZ features a more plastic build, similar to Pioneer DJ’s club-standard Nexus 2 setup. While the metal build of the Prime 4 is a sure sign of durability, the type of plastic that Pioneer DJ has been using on its higher-end hardware has proven to be very durable.Mixing songs with matching keys and manually switching a song’s key has become an artistic focus in the DJing world. We’ll go over the similarities and differences of these two four-channel standalone units to help you decide which unit might fit you the best… Hardware The PRIME 4 features an adjustable 10" touch screen with gesture support. A display cover is included.
