Description

When it comes to classic board games, there are few that can compete with the popularity of Trivial Pursuit. And when it comes to movie franchises, there are few that can compete with the popularity of Lord of the Rings. So it only makes sense that the two would come together in the form of the Trivial Pursuit LOTR Edition Boardgame.

The Trivial Pursuit-the Lord of the Rings Movie Trilogy Edition by Parker Brothers is a great game for any fan of the movie trilogy. The game is designed for two to six players and takes about two hours to play. The objective of the game is to collect all six of the Ringwraith cards, which are aptly named after the fearsome creatures that serve Sauron in the movies. The first twist to this game is obvious – all the questions concern Lord of the Rings. There is also an additional element, with a replica of the one ring (which can be given to the player currently winning) and a miniature Nazgul who will pursue the Ringbearer and try to eat their wedges. Wedge spaces exist in full-size board games. If you land on one and answer the given question correctly, you can add a wedge of that color to your scoring piece. There are only six wedge spaces on the board, which corresponds to the number of categories. Each wedge space features a picture of a wedge. How Many Wedges Do You Need to Win Trivial Pursuit ?

Conclusion

Everything else remains exactly the same. This would make the perfect gift for any kid who has an awesome interest in the world and who is constantly asking ‘why’ and ‘what’! Trivial Pursuit 2000s Players start by choosing one out of six categories: People, Places, Creatures, Events, Things or Miscellaneous. They then roll the dice and answer a question from their chosen category accordingly. If they answer correctly, they get to move their piece forward on the board. The first player to reach finish wins the game! The questions: as mentioned above, these are all about Lord of the Rings. This tends to mean that if you know your Tolkien well, you will find many of these questions easy. The first time we played this, my wife had 5 wedges by the end of her first turn (i.e. before I had played any part in the game aside from reading questions or handing over wedges. The one major exception is the “making movies” category, which might occasionally throw you a freebie, like “which actor played Legolas” but is far more likely to be “who was second unit director on Fellowship?” or worse. The moment someone pauses or hesitates using the words ‘hmm’ or ‘errrrm,’ everyone must stand up and do a silly dance. That’s the family-friendly version. Are you over 21 and drinking? Then that person has to do a shot! 4. “No Pinks” Wedge questions are present in bite-size editions of Trivial Pursuit. Since there is no game board, players simply answer questions and collect question cards. If you are the first one to answer 12 questions correctly and collect six cards, you win. In the game, you start with one question. If you answer it correctly, you are given your second question or wedge question. If you get that one right too, you get to keep the card, which is equivalent to earning a wedge in a full-size game.

Trivial Pursuit Family Edition also boasts a “showdown” feature. Using this addition to the classic gameplay, you can challenge another player by trying to steal their wedge. When this mechanism is in action, two players can compete for one wedge at the same time. This certainly adds an extra level of competition and forces players to think strategically. Trivial Pursuit JuniorLord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit is an entertaining game that offers a chance to earn points and bragging rights by correctly answering questions about one of the most popular book series and movie franchises of all time. The game is designed for fans of the Lord of the Rings, but even non-fans can enjoy it thanks to its simple rules and engaging gameplay.

If all the more “seasoned” players are on one team, they could be kind and spot the younger teams the pink pie or even agree not to ask a pink question for the final challenge. Have mercy!Though Trivial Pursuit features a level of strategy, it is still one of the easiest board games to learn. Follow the instructions outlined above to play your next game of Trivial Pursuit. Trivia knowledge is important, but knowing the rules and planning your moves ahead can definitely help. This board game was released in 2004 and includes 2 DVDs. One DVD has the standard Trivial Pursuit questions, while the other DVD is specifically about Lord of the Rings. So whether you’re a fan of the books or the movies (or both!), you’ll be able to test your knowledge with this game. So you love Trivial Pursuit but you want to spice it up a little. Here are some ideas for House Rules you can implement next time you play! One word of advice? Make sure everyone is aware in advance so there are no nasty surprises or hard feelings! 1. The Higher You Roll, The Harder The Question This. Is. Amazing. A special Trivial Pursuit edition solely for the 2000s? What more could you possibly ask for? An updated interface? Sure, you can have that too!
