The Samsung monitor has a higher 240Hz refresh rate compared to the 144Hz refresh rate of the AOC, but the AOC still has better motion handling. Why not sign up to our newsletter and receive info on exclusive offers each week that are not available to the public.

The AMD FreeSync Premium Technology ensures that the GPU’s and monitor’s refresh rates are synchronised, which provides a fluid, tear free gaming experience at highest performance. Now, VA panels offer the best contrast ratio (~3,000:1), which results in deeper blacks as opposed to TN and IPS displays with a ~1,000:1 contrast ratio.Besides offering the most accurate color reproduction and the widest viewing angles, IPS panels also offer a good balance between TN and VA variants when it comes to overall performance and image quality. On black screens, there is some light bleeding - however it's only minimal and doesn't detract from the overall experience. There's a 24G2U variant available in some regions that should perform similarly, but it includes a USB hub and built-in speakers. The AOC 24G2 was one of the best budget gaming monitor available thanks to its smooth performance, great image quality, plenty of useful features and excellent design quality. The AOC has a slightly faster response time and a better Black Frame Insertion feature, and it's a bit brighter.

We tested the monitor with the PS5's new variable refresh rate feature and confirmed that it's not compatible, since the PS5 only supports HDMI Forum VRR. The Gigabyte supports HDR and can deliver a relatively decent experience, whereas the AOC doesn't support HDR at all.The AOC 24G2 has an okay contrast ratio, better than the typical 1000:1 contrast of most IPS panels. The advertised VRR range is 48Hz-144Hz, but we didn't see any tearing below 48Hz because it has low frame compensation. There are speakers on the back which are better than I thought they would be, but they sound quite hollow. Its 1080p resolution might not be good enough for some when it comes to content creation and consumption, and it doesn't support HDR at all. I have a 144Hz 1ms monitor with FreeSync technology that comes with HDMI, DisplayPort, and side 2 USB sockets.

The AOC 24G2U's 144 Hz refresh rate, 1 ms MPRT and FreeSync support eliminate stuttering and tearing. However, IPS panels still offer punchier colors, and they don’t have black smearing issues associated with most VA panels, which is why most users prefer the IPS technology. I would use the monitor with low input lag option switched on and overdrive on the strong level if online competitive gaming is your thing. There's a few colour settings in the menu so you should be able to find your ideal with some tweaking. Make sure the power button is ON and the Power Cord is properly connected to a grounded power outlet and to the monitor.L'unica cosa che non mi fa impazzire è la disposizione dei pulsanti per le regolazioni (nella parte inferiore del monitor, sul lato destro), ma come detto non non ci si dovrà andare troppo spesso, e ci si può stare. Despite the AOC scoring higher, the ASUS performs better gaming-wise because it has a slightly higher refresh rate of 165Hz and better response times. Computers have a number of ports and sockets that enable the user to plug-in various peripherals such as a printer, USB mouse, or, perhaps most importantly of all, an Internet connection. Its measured peak brightness and contrast ratio are closer to the specified 250-nits and 1,000:1, but it also has a slightly better response time speed and overdrive implementation. Now, they’ve discontinued the models using the BOE panel, and started using the old PANDA panel again. The HP has slightly better response times; however, the difference is very small and likely not noticeable to most people. Even though they each have a 144Hz refresh rate, motion looks much better on the AOC thanks to its much quicker response time. The 'Strong' setting that we recommend at max refresh rate has the fastest gray-to-gray response time at 60Hz, but its total response time is slower, and there's significantly more overshoot causing inverse ghosting.
