The whole story about a father who is a great inventor, but later gets kidnapped and his very much intelligent and adventurous daughter trying to rescue him is entertaining. There is a great description and the plot doesn't drag on. Many parts are also expected, but I think the part about the ATM invention was the best. Our learning is thematic meaning each term we focus on one theme through our reading, writing and wider curriculum. By learning in this way, we deepen our understanding, become critical thinkers and develop both knowledge and skills in key areas. Each chapter had something to keep us reading and the simple experiments were fun to read about and then we would just do them at home. It’s all stuff you will have at home like lemon juice or wax for secret writings and coco powder for searching fingerprints, great fun.

this book had some funny parts in it. And i liked how the father and daughter had such a good connection. A thrilling detective story littered with wild and wonderful inventions from the award-winning author of PIG-HEART BOY and NOUGHTS AND CROSSES.This has all the best bits of a child-friendly episode of CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) - looking for clues, dusting for fingerprints, gathering evidence and setting traps. Children will love working alongside the girls - playing detective and solving the mystery. Don’t be surprised to find readers going around the house with pieces of sellotape or cocoa powder on the hunt for finger prints. It was a great book full of adventure and fun. I like Detective Warner, this book is fiction. I would recommend it to my friend Owen.It interested me because I like the genre of mystery. Our final theme of the year, and sadly Featherby, is Lights Out. We explore the text The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas and produce formal writing, extended narrative and discussion texts. This theme is a transition theme as we prepare ourselves for the next stage of our learning at secondary school.

We recall and build upon previous learning with animals and habitats looking at how animals have adapted and evolved, in particular looking at marsupials. Our art skillset is developed by producing artwork based on animals in the style of Pablo Picasso and Franc Marc. Beans calls her dad 'Gadgetman' because of the weird and wonderful gadgets he comes up with - everything from exploding biscuits to spy kits.
