Description

With an air extraction rate of 118m3/h, the Icon 30 is perfect for installing in a high use bathroom and meets building regs for utility room installations. Rather than having different models with different operating functions, the Icon fans come in three sizes, the 15, 30 and 60, with each size available as a mains voltage or low voltage SELV configuration and out of the box has a basic on/off operating mode. Most domestic bathroom extractors attach to a 100mm hole in the outside wall. If you’re replacing a standard-sized extractor fan, this hole will already be present and you should be able to install the new one yourself. Before you remove the old fan, it’s a good idea to take a photo of its wiring for later reference – and make absolutely sure you shut off the mains power before you take the old one’s front housing off.

The iConstants are IPX5 rated and may therefore be installed anywhere in Zones 1 and 2 of the bathroom, in either the wall or ceiling.

The Airflow Icon range is a great looking axial extractor fan which thanks to its eye-catching 'opening iris' shutter, has become a modern design classic. The ICSTT model features an over run timer which keeps the boost setting running for 2 / 15 / 30 / 40 minutes. Model above is for basic on/off switching. Choose an optional control module to upgrade fan for Pullcord, Timer, Humidity or Motion Sensing operation. Don’t forget to add the control module you want. Any module fits any fan. Its so iCON easy! Applications Tiling is a breeze with the circular cover flange, reducing the need to 'make good' and one wipe and the cover is clean.

Please note: While the Icon 30 uses 4" inch ducting it does require a 6" hole in the wall or ceiling for flush fitting.

It/s so iCON easy Applications: PRHTM - Infrared - Passive infrared activation with adjustable humidity setting and adjustable timer overrun Easy to install due to the core drilled hole and its twist on/off cover enabling it to be fitted and fixed easily with its single side entry fixing screw. In a survey carried out by ventilation specialist Vent-Axia, 40% of respondents said that they or their children had been woken in the night by a noisy bathroom fan. Even the cheapest fans are usually very quiet out of the box, but as the motor bearings start to wear – typically after about two years with low-end models – the blades can start to oscillate against the main housing, producing an annoying rattle in the process. A higher-quality fan should last longer, but if you value quietness then at some point you’ll probably need to repair or replace your fan. How do you install a bathroom extractor fan?

This standard 30 model (72591601) is suitable for installation into zone 3 of the bathroom and offers basic on/off switching. Choose an optional control module to expand the functionality and automation:Pullcord, Timer, Humidity or Motion Sensing options. The more powerful and slightly larger Icon 30 Bathroom & Utility room unit can be installed similarly to the Icon 15 either as a surface mounted 100mm/4” fan or flush mounted as a 150mm/6” install by removing the rear cowl. The 100 mm/4” Icon 15 Bathroom unit can be flush mounted in either the wall or ceiling and with a low-profile fascia, sits unobtrusively in any room. The largest fan in the range, the 150mm/6” Icon 60 Kitchen unit can also be surface or flush mounted as desired and with an air extraction rate of 260m3/h, the Icon 60 is a perfect stylish addition to any domestic kitchen.

Specification

The precise duration of the overrun is normally configured during installation, with most fans offering a range between 30 seconds and 30 minutes. You might as well tend towards the latter end of the scale as the cost is very low: on average, a fan like this uses around 8W. The Airlfow Icon 30 fan is very powerful. With an extract rate of 32 litres a second, it meets the building regulations for bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms. The ICON30 comes complete with cantilever fixing lugs enabling a recessed installation on uneven surfaces.

Finally, if you think you (or anyone else in the house) will forget to turn the fan on, consider a model with a humidity sensor. This automatically activates the fan when the level of moisture in the air exceeds a certain threshold. This sensor may need occasional cleaning, though, or the accumulation of dust or grime will hinder its effectiveness. What about noise?
