Description

The Star River is a rare example of a 2-man tent that’s actually realistic about space. Most ‘2-man’ tents tend to be 1-man plus gear, at best. But the Star River actually seems well-proportioned – 2 people should have plenty of room lying side by side. It doesn’t leave much room for gear storage inside the tent, but this brings us neatly onto our next point: the vestibules. You won’t have a lot of elbow room, so choose your tent buddy carefully if you’re going to be sharing. With a waterproof coating of up to 3000mm, the Cloud Up 2 is slightly less water-resistant than the Cloud Up 1. That said, 3000mm is more than enough for most camping conditions, especially if you correctly pitch out the guy lines to prevent moisture from transferring to the inner tent.

With two doors and two vestibules, that’s a pretty ventilated and spacious tent, a 110cm headroom is more than its colleagues, and the walls are pretty verticle for a less cramped feel – this is a 2-person tent that could actually be used by two people for an extended period of time without getting to hate each other. Camping Stove Accessories Uncover the secret to an amazing outdoor cooking experience – explore the accessories available for all your camping stoves and gas bottles. From coffee presses to pot grips, and even leather aprons, get creative with your cooking setup and make all the difference! Read More My reasons for moving from the CU2 to CP2 was (1) freestanding, mine is an older CU2 they are now freestanding (2) all-in-one pitch; I have started to despise the flapping around with separate flysheets and (3) space - foxhole vs cavern. It shares the same overall design as the Hilleberg but the materials are obviously not as high-quality in an entry-level version.

This tent is technically a two-person tent. Personally, I would want to sleep in it only with my husband, sister, or best friend at a push! But I have to say - build quality seems pretty good. Poles are good. Clips are good. Zips work well. Stitching is clean. No leaks, no moisture (thus far). Forget the Cloud Up 2. I have it and love it but it's a one-plus person tent, room for kit and a dog or child but not two adults in comfort - only one entrance small vestibule. The tents that Naturehike produces are near copies of higher-end brands; however, Naturehike uses cheaper materials and a faster manufacturing process to cut down on costs. Also, avoid pitching during a windy time of day when the tent is more likely to flap around and catch on something. Ease of Set-Up

If you are interested in the outdoor gear world, there’s no chance you haven’t heard of Naturehike. They have flooded the market with ultra-cheap products which have proven themselves reliable in countless adventures during recent years. To avoid this, you’ll want to camp in a shady spot whenever possible. Keep your vents open all the time, and store any damp kit out of the sleeping compartment. Like many Chinese brands, Naturehike started as a manufacturer and supplier for western brands that delocalized their production to China. Naturehike Star-River designed with classic style, can work in any weather, any season for strong and long lasting performance. It is a great tent that has been proved by over 10000+ customers all over the world. If you choose the version of the Star River with the snow skirt, remember that a snow skirt can flap about if there’s no snow to hold it down which could be annoying when you are trying to sleep and could allow cold wind to penetrate underneath the snow skirt – just something to bear in mind.

The specs above both apply to the green and grey versions of the tent. The orange version is made of 210T Polyester, with a 3000mm head. The poles and pegs are both made of Aluminium. Size & Weight The guylines’ dark color makes them easy to trip over at night—and the last thing you need is an injury when you’re lost in the great outdoors. Just like the Cloud Up 1, this tent is easy to set up, affordable, and reliable. You’ll be grateful for the extra floor space to spread out, but with only one door and vestibule, I’d recommend going for a different tent if two adults will be sharing the space. So far I've narrowed down my search to these three tents but found a few concerns with each of them and I'm curious to hear if anyone else has had those issues and which of the three options would you recommend. An even bigger version of the Cloud Up 2, the Cloud Up 3 is the first version of this tent that I would recommend for two people sharing. It has only a single door and vestibule but the additional floor space means that you can bring some of your kit into the tent with you.
