This rhyming book is narrated by a small boy, who describes his mother’s pregnancy in a positive and simple childlike way (‘There’s a house inside my mummy, where my little brother grows, or maybe it’s my little sister no-one really knows’. He likes to cuddle up and feel the baby kicking, or tell the baby he loves him through the ‘tummy telephone’. The book describes some common aspects of pregnancy (food cravings, tiredness) in a way that won’t make a young child anxious. He doesn’t remember being there, but he knows it’s a warm and cosy place with a sort of giant bathtub inside where the baby sleeps.
