The entire EasiYo Yogurt Maker, as well as all jars and lunchtakers are manufactured from approved food grade polypropylene. That means all parts are completely free from polycarbonate and BPA. Eek, I’ve lost something! Can I get replacement parts for my yogurt maker? Also I thought some people may be interested to hear of my husbands recent trip to the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. He was invited to stay in a Ger, which is a nomadic tent style of housing in the middle of literally nowhere, with a family for a few nights, along with the goats and animals etc. the old grandma in the family made yoghurt every night from horsemilk or goat milk in a container left out. She had been using the same culture that had been handed on from her mother, and would continue to be handed on the her children. No fridge, no easyyo, no sachets… Of course being my husband he didn’t take notes, but he did say it was horrible and had to refuse seconds 🙂 No, this product is not recommended for people with dairy or lactose allergies or intolerance. While there are no dairy ingredients in the recipe, it’s made on the same production line as our dairy based products so it may contain traces of dairy. Can you make a version with just Coconut and not Soya?

Yes, our newer design jars can be used in our older style yogurt makers. If you need some extra jars, you can buy them online here. Can I use a glass jar in the EasiYo Maker? Fresh yoghurt has never been so popular - it tastes fantastic and helps keep us healthy - and that's why EasiYo, all the way from New Zealand, has gathered pace in the 'make your own' stakes because it's so unbelievably easy. Don’t stress! Your yogurt will keep in the yogurt maker for up to 24 hours without being adversely affected. You may find it’s tangier in taste due to the longer fermentation time. Why does watery stuff sometimes come to the top of the yogurt? This is basically the same as above, except without steps 1 & 2, and instead of 1/2 cup of milk powder, I use 1&1/3 to 1&1/2 cups of milk powder, 1 litre of cold water from the tap. Hmm, no. We don’t recommend eating anything after its best before date. I’ve made my yogurt, yum! How will it keep? Push the plastic insert into your yogurt maker as far as it can go. Next, pour boiling water up to the top of the plastic insert. Place your jar into the yogurt maker so it sits on top of the plastic insert, then put the lid on your yogurt maker. In response to questions in the comments, I have now tried making yoghurt using UHT milk, and I have to confess, this is now my favourite option. It is exactly the same as option 1, without the heating and cooling of the milk, and works perfectly.

Yes, our plant based products meet vegan friendly and vegan requirements. There are no animal derived ingredients. However, it is manufactured on the same line as our dairy based products. We wash our equipment thoroughly between batches to minimise any cross-contamination as much as reasonably possible. That being said, we cannot guaranteed that there are absolutely no traces of dairy in our plant based Alternatives to Yogurts. I have a dairy or lactose intolerance. Can I eat your Plant Based Alternative to Yogurt? After 8-12 hours your yogurt should be put straight into the fridge as the yogurt is still very soft and delicate. We know this is hard, because it’s so tempting to start eating the freshly made EasiYo yogurt right away! However patience is a great thing, and your fresh yogurt will become a firmer set when chilled in the fridge for 3-4 hours. What if my yogurt doesn’t seem to set at all?Half fill your yogurt jar with room temperature drinking water (15-20°C). Add the contents of the yogurt sachet, pop on the lid and give it a good shake. Add more water to the jar until it’s about 5mm from the top… pop on the lid and shake again. Heat 1 litre of milk almost (but not quite) to boiling – look for the point when it is just slightly frothy on top but not yet foaming up (or use a milk thermometer if you have one). Organic milk is of course best, but not essential, and you can use anything from fat free milk to full cream (4%) milk. Heating the milk changes the protein to make it more conducive to making yoghurt with. It also kills off any bacteria that is growing in the milk and might compete with the yoghurt starter culture.

EasiYo Jars are made from Food Grade plastics, are BPA free and are suitable to withstand boiling water. We do not recommend putting a glass jar in the EasiYo Maker. What is the temperature strip for? There are different ways of flavouring your yoghurt, which can be done either before setting or afterwards, when serving. One common method is to stir in some jam or some fresh fruit when serving. Unfortunately, half of my family won’t eat yoghurt this way, having gotten too use to the store bought extra sweet stuff. So for them, I sweeten before setting. The two preferred flavours I’ve made this way are lemon (which I love) and vanilla. The EasiYo system is designed to eliminate the hassles of incubating and stabilising milk. Any milk you need is provided in powdered form in the EasiYo sachet – simply add water for delicious yogurt every time. Why does my yogurt seem a bit runny after 8 hours? You shouldn’t need to worry about cooling it, as long as the milk you’re using is cold. Yoghurt can grow at up to about 50 degrees (it’s usually recommended that you cool to about 40 and try to hold it at that temperature when not using the easiyo) so that should be cool enough not to kill it off. On the other hand, using the Easiyo there’s probably no reason to boil the water in the first place, that’s probably just to bring the overall mix to the right temperature, so you could try it with cold water. It will take a little longer this way though, as the mix will have to warm up before the culture starts to grow. In a fresh design and a smart shade of red, this version of EasiYo’s Yoghurt Maker is more compact than the previous model to fit better in your kitchen cupboard but will still produce the same amount of yummy yoghurt. Designed and made in New Zealand, this new model also features an easy-grip, recessed handle in the lid and non-slip feet whilst the redesigned shape of the 1kg jar means you can spoon every last bit of yoghurt out, making it easier to clean too. The insulation has also been improved to give even more consistent results. So simple and economical to use, it’s easy for you and your family to enjoy home-made, great-tasting yoghurt with EasiYo. Includes Yoghurt Jar. Experiment with the amount of sweetener you like to use. Two tablespoons is much less sweet than store bought yoghurt usually is, but still sweeter than some people like. Honey gives a quite different flavour compared to sugar. Do not use Xylitol, which seems to inhibit the bacteria from growing. I believe Stevia is the same. You can use them afterwards if you like. You can easily keep a litre or two of UHT milk in the cupboard, without having to clutter up your fridge. It’s probably not as economical as using powdered milk, but still far cheaper than buying ready made yoghurt or Easiyo sachets. And you can buy organic UHT milk at Aldi in Australia (usually). I know you can get organic powdered milk, but I haven’t sourced any yet. Flavouring your Yoghurt
