Description

Aside from the machine itself, Sage has included 2 non-pressurised and 2 pressurised baskets. The right option depends on whether you’re using pre-ground or freshly ground coffee, and whether you want one or two cups. So I'm not just sharing what others have said about these machines, or rehashing other people's opinions, I'm telling you the opinion I've formed based on my experience with these machines. This third-wave specialty coffee machine also has an auto purge for its heating system after every steaming. So, once you’re done frothing milk, you can clean the device out easily. As with the Express, the Duo Temp Pro has the original thermojet, so it's slightly slower when it comes to steam ready time and steaming time. This means it’s easy to switch from brewing to steaming and vice versa. It also means you can get your espresso shot faster.

An interesting feature is the automatic heat purging system. Using the steam wand increases the internal heat, which can affect the taste of the next espresso. To prevent this, the purging system reduces the temperature, so that any subsequent espressos are made at the correct temperature. If you’re planning to make multiple drinks, this is a brilliant feature.Automatic and manual milk steaming (3 temp settings and 3 texture settings with the auto steaming), auto purging steam wand – it's an impressive little machine. I know this because the Oracle is the first coffee machine I ever reviewed, Sage sent it to me (on loan only) at a time when I had zero home barista skills, and the espresso & milkies I drank via that machine quite frankly blew me away. change out my 3 beans, and know exactly what grind size I need to get the same result consistently. There’s a built-in steam wand and you can adjust milk temperature and texture to get different milky coffees just right.

On top of that, the machine features a low-pressure pre-infusion. It increases the machine’s pressure gradually, so the machine pulls as much flavor as possible out of the beans. These machines work differently, and the espresso they produce is different. It's actually closer to cafe crema, a very popular drink in Germany, Austria & Switzerland, which may be why bean to cup coffee machines are hugely popular in these countries in particular. You grind, tamp, use the razor tool to get the dose right, insert the portafilter and press the shot button. The machine then handles the milk texture for you, and then you handle pouring the milk.

I'm talking about Sage espresso machines, assuming that you're also on this little rainy island in which they go by this brand name.It doesn't have the LCD display that the pro has, so it doesn't have the shot timer, easy access to cleaning cycles, and so on, and you can't change the brew temp. It has the same original thermocoil as with the Barista Express, but there's no pressure gauge, and no shot buttons, you literally just grind your coffee, dose the basket, turn the dial to the left – the shot will start along with approx. 8 seconds of low pressure pre-infusion, then when it's done you turn the dial to the right and toggle hot water or steam via the selector button. This is the most commonly asked question when it comes to comparing other Sage machines to the Pro, and specifically, the question I'm wanting to deal with here is, given that the pro costs more, is it worth it? Note: This range previously was sold under the Heston Blumenthal label. Frequently Asked Questions Sage Duo Temp Pro Vs Gaggia Classic – What’s the Difference?

They can get the job or make espresso well, and their large water capacities reduce the times you should refill the tank. All the machine’s brewing aspects can be controlled using the turn-knob on the front of the machine. This actually makes it a bit easier to use than the Breville Duo Temp because you don’t have tons of controls to fiddle around with.

The Breville Infuser wins this round because it’s well-priced but comes with lots of special features. The Final Verdict Prefer the fuss-free process of making coffee from a capsule, but want a sophisticated take on this style of machine? This model is that. We also like how easy it is to get started with, and that it makes a great range of coffees, while foaming milk is also simple. A downside is that there’s no timer switch. This is a shame, as the portafilter produces best results when it’s slightly warm. Value for Money
