There are plenty of online resources about vulvas, thanks to the women’s empowerment movement, but there doesn’t seem to be a similar movement when it comes to penises. I purchased the previous book in this series that was focused on breasts and I loved reading that book too. As I read the book, I saw many interesting things, and I’m not even referring to the multitude of penises (there is also a strong narrative of what word to use when referring to the penis as throughout the book; I settled for the anatomical term in this piece). Topics like our physical and mental health, our worries and insecurities, our hopes and dream, and our overall emotions should become commonplace. I love this book, I love the subject matter and the fact that it is being brought to public attention.

From veteran to vicar, from porn addict to prostate cancer survivor, men from all walks of life share honest reflections about their bodies, sexuality, relationships, fatherhood, work and health in this pioneering and unique book.A big thank you to the author and publisher of this book for sending me a copy of this book to review.

I knew of Laura from her previous, brilliant volume Bare Reality so I anticipated this would be another sensitive, powerful and life-affirming work. Every ABSOT post runs through a review process by my Editor-in-Chief, Katie, and we’ve had numerous conversations about making sure that I’m keeping my eye on the ball with regards to the overall scope of society in regards to men and privilege. Her previous books 'Bare Reality: 100 women, their breasts, their stories', 'Manhood: The Bare Reality' and 'Womanhood: The Bare Reality' attracted worldwide media coverage and excellent reviews. Recognizing that a disparity exists is the first step, and it must be followed by concrete action steps to fix this.

Featuring a vibrant rainbow design, and our super-sized Q logo, you won't find a more stylish way to make a statement. Today, I want to talk about a book that can really help parents have those important conversations about genitals with their kids. All opinions expressed are my own and I was not compensated (beyond saving on the cost of this book) for this review. It occurred to me as I read just how rare it is for non-erect penises to be subjected to the gaze of thousands of women and men. I feel that when men come together and talk we can integrate our emotions and then be true in our actions.

To read about these men's relationships with modern masculinity, other people, friends, lovers and family, as well as with their own bodies, is a truly enlightening look into what it is to be a man in the 21st century.

Specially, it was amazing to see and understand the sensitive side of man, to connect to their really undercovered fellings. My books Bare Reality: 100 women, their breasts, their stories, Manhood: The Bare Reality and Womanhood: The Bare Reality attracted worldwide media coverage and critical acclaim. No matter if you’re talking to your male buddy, your wife, or a mashed up dead tree, it’s the first step in being a “transformational” man. Hearing these men’s stories was an absolute privilege and honour and I am very grateful for the experience.

These themes mainly revolved around the differences between “traditional manhood” and “transformational manhood” – not terms used in the book, but I like alliteration so that’s what we’re going with. There’s more to a loving sex life than an erection, that’s more the icing on the cake 😊 Also all chaos seem to want a bigger penis, no matter how big the one they have is!As I was typing this, I really had to wonder – were the interviews taped while they were still naked or did they get dressed first? Some is very depressing and makes me wonder about the consicencses of pushing masculinity on boys and men.
