I saw Madness performing on Jools Holland, got this for my birthday and I'm pretty sure I never stopped listening to it for the next couple of years. A great compilation of their earlier work, this is a band which I honestly only knew from "Our House" so it's a bit of a revelation to listen to a greatest hits album from before that song was released.

The ska-pop of Madness was never really my thing (sorry UK - maybe I don't have that island-wave-feeling 😉) - but I think “It Must Be Love” is an incredibly good song (but one or the other song also has its own Charm and fun, too -II*😉), which is why I bought this compilation. Unless it is unsealed and you can see the disc to prove otherwise, the LP you are selling will be the black vinyl edition. The songs are all pretty great and have stood the test of time very well , bringing back lots of memories .Sometimes music can bridge the gap between youth and maturity but for some reason this band doesnt for me . Madness_ is a good album but it's not a complete 'best of' ("Our House" and "Driving In My Car" are notable omissions). Best tracks: "My Girl", "Baggy Trousers", "It Must Be Love", "House Of Fun", "One Step Beyond" and "Cardiac Arrest". Maybe im just too old and serious now but i find it hard to listen to it all in one sitting , maybe my tastes are just a bit too different from when i was 15 now , or maybe ive just heard too many different musics that are more appealing to me now , so while i endorse how great they are, as a near 40 year old man i cant quite bring myself to reach for it often .
