Nokia's X20 simply has too much screen space for that and is quite heavy. The Nokia X20 is, unfortunately, the greatest ‘average smartphone’ in this market. And I don’t think that’s enough.

When it comes to video, the Nokia X20 tops out at 1080p, with a choice of either 30fps or 60fps recording. The footage looked crisp and stable with the EIS setting engaged, but cheaper phones such as the Redmi Note 9T and Moto G 5G Plus can record at up to 4K resolution. As with the camera performance, though, the low score could be a result of our early production unit, and perhaps software optimizations could bump that 1,529 a little higher. The main camera, as is now common for most cameras, uses pixel binning to combine four pixels at a time into one pixel. This allows a higher light yield to be achieved. However, the full resolution can also be used in a special mode The phone feels fairly slow to use, and when put through the Geekbench 4 benchmark test, it returned a fairly low score of 1,529, where we’d expect a phone at this price to be closer to 1,700. The 2-day battery testing was conducted using a real life usage test by HMD Global. The test included active usage of a device for 5 hours per day with a new battery. Usage included e.g. gaming, video streaming, calling, sending sms, browsing and using apps (such as social media, news, navigation and music). The test was conducted with normal device settings in a lit indoor environment. The device was left on standby overnight.

Thus, the currently most expensive of Nokia's new smartphones is on par with older devices, but there should be much faster devices for the same money in the near future.
