Description

For a competitive gamer, though, this won’t cause a lot of issues since you’ll mainly be sitting directly in front of the screen. The Dark Stabilizer brightens the screen. It gives three different levels of brightness, which allows you to spot your enemies even in the darkest areas. The Game Enhance Mode consists of three functions. The first is an FPS counter. Then there’s a Display Alignment for multitaskers and an on-screen timer. – AMD Free-Sync dark stabilizer is badly implemented on that monitor so I never used it - when its enabled it introduces some type of a bad "sharpness/contrast" effect around edges of the icons, its especially visible on win 10 taskbar If you are an NVIDIA card user, then AW2518HF is available with the G-Sync compatibility. Note that it is more expensive. – Price The modest weight and size of this product are most suitable for e-sports gamers. They cannot carry a massive display on the road.

Due to the size of the screen, it’s unlikely that you’d buy the Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor AW2518H to have friends over to watch you playing, but this issue is definitely something worth bearing in mind. Playing on the preset, which was named "super fast" by the monitor manufacturer won't suddenly make your monitor super fast... You're now using the VRR overdrive presets, which the manufacturer apparently set up to be different (lower) than non-VRR (regular) presets. Are you looking for excellent performance, brilliant gaming features, and eye-catching design? The Alienware Gaming monitor AW2518HF is one of the best in these categories. It is an easy recommendation for pro-creatives and gamers alike. The major problem with 240Hz gaming screens is the cost factor. They cost 2x more than 144Hz gaming monitors. That’s why novice or casual gamers may be better off looking elsewhere.Karisha91 wrote:Okay so what do you want to say? I didn’t fix anything? Is there anyway to reduce coronas without using g-sync? The gaming features of an AW2518HF gaming monitor are quite impressive. The OSD or On-Screen Display menu sports a plethora of excellent gaming features. Examples are the pre-calibrated screen pre-sets (RTS, FPS, RPG) and the three customizable gaming profiles. The Dell AW2518HF features a TN panel developed by AU Optronics; the same panel is used in most 24.5″ 240Hz gaming monitor models. I briefly tried it and so far it seems it has eliminated the inverse ghosting quite a bit on the highest overdrive. Which means the higher it is, the more voltage gets pumped into your screen's pixels to force them to transition from color to color faster.

So, are you an avid gamer who is looking at future-proofing your gaming monitor ? The Alienware 25 AW2518HF gaming monitor is the best option for you. It sports a 1920 x 1080 resolution and many other gaming features. – Alienware 25 AW2518HF Technical Specifications The pixel response time speed of 1ms GtG eliminates visible trailing behind fast-moving objects, but such fast response time is nowadays available on IPS panel displays as well. Follow the UFOs with your eye and observe the amount of ghosting/overshoot you see with your gsync+super fast "fix" in place.

Moreover, the OSD menu is intuitive and easily navigated via the six OSD buttons placed at the bottom bezel of the screen. Alienware is one of the most popular brands. They promise to set the trend with their extra edges, curves in their design, and solid build. They also offer above-par performance like no one else can do. The same thing applies to this monitor. It sits on a sturdy tripod stand, which provides stable support. Meaning: If you use the "normal" preset without g-sync/freesync, you'll get more or less the same results.

What you did by enabling g-sync/freesync was just attaching a lower overdrive gain value to the "super fast" overdrive preset. The deal-breaker for most users is that the Dell AW2518HF 240Hz gaming monitor features the standard 1920×1080 resolution and a TN panel, which, with the performance put aside, provides an inferior image quality to even some cheaper displays. In other words, the preset labeled as "super fast" (for example) now has what I assume to be roughly the same amount of overdrive gain attached to it, as the "normal" preset has in non-VRR operation. If you have a FreeSync-compatiblegraphics card, you can synchronize the refresh rate of the Alienware AW2518HF to your GPU. This allows for a dynamic refresh rate, which will eliminate screen tearing and stuttering without significantly increasing the input lag.

I've now read the thread further... it's a shame that nobody else has corrected you and other people who have the same misconceptions. I had the same monitor and same gpu, super fast would make most sense to use since it's highest OD and it doesn't introduce any overshoot/corona artifacts, maybe just a little bit @60Hz. You can further improve slight ghosting trail this monitor has with contrast and reducing the G gain out of RGB in osd custom colors (there's more in this thread discussion: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=6601&p=48725#p48725). The Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor AW2518H is easy to set up, with no tools required. While the 1080p TN display may not be as initially impressive as larger monitors with higher resolutions, it’s also clear that the AW2518H provides excellent image quality. Now for the performance of the Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor. The AW2518HF is of above-par quality. It is simple to set up, and you will not need any tools for that. The 1080p display may not seem to be appealing. That’s especially true when compared to the larger models with high resolution. Yet, you cannot overlook the fantastic picture quality of this Alienware monitor. The Dell Alienware AW2518HF is a 24.5″ 1080p 240Hz 1ms gaming monitor with AMD FreeSync support, ensuring smooth performance for fast-paced competitive gaming.
