They act as a connector to a pattress and in a lot of cases can be found installed behind a downlighter. How do junction boxes work? An alternative method, this uses the same wiring principles as the looped ceiling roses, but here the connections are made in junction boxes rather than the ceiling rose. The junction box effectively replaces the ceiling rose.
