I think the S tier is self explanatory; Navy and intercessors are the best and most versatile Kill teams in the game with very few (or no bad) matchups. Elucidian Starstriders enjoy the surprise effect and have many tools to deal with almost everything (although they suffer against MEQ). Perhaps the most situational of the 4 ploys. This allows operatives to retain a single normal hit during combat as a critical hit, provided they’re being supported in that combat. This is more likely to find its usefulness in matches where you outnumber your opponent, but even then The Blooded have access to a significant number of abilities to buff their combat prowess making this ploy feel, lore appropriate, but mechanically redundant. Tactical Ploys Callous Disregard

With this kit, you can assemble a formidable force of 10 Traitor Guard, accompanied by a Traitor Enforcer and his loyal Traitor Ogryn. These miniatures can serve as Blooded operatives in thrilling games of Kill Team or join the ranks of Chaos Space Marines in epic battles of Warhammer 40,000. The kit provides an extensive selection of weapons, heads, and accessories, granting you the opportunity to create a truly unique squad of ragged rebels. Customize your Traitor Troopers as specialists for your Kill Team, such as the deadly Sharpshooter, versatile Brimstone Grenadier, or relentless Trench Sweeper, among many others. Unleash the might of the Traitor Guard and revel in their ruthless pursuit of dark triumph. What’s in the Kill Team: Blooded boxAs always, there’s a crop of new content on Warhammer+ this week. Citadel Colour Masterclass shows you how to paint muzzle burn on your gun barrels, while there’s a Battle Report from the Mortal Realms which finds the Thunderstrike-armoured Stormcast Eternals take on the Kruleboyz. Finally, Part One of Imperial Armour: The Siege of Vraks makes it to the Warhammer Vault, alongside issues 360 and 361 of White Dwarf. Heading over to England, let’s take a look at the LWG Season 1 event, which had 36 players and was the country’s biggest event this year, taking place entirely on closed/Gallowdark terrain: In the B Tier we have factions which haven’t seen top 8 finishes but are close to being able to make it. They may need a little help and have problems in too many matchups to consistently win without a discrepancy in player skill to overcome the faction differences. It includes Harbinger of Dread rules to strike fear into your foes, the new Warp Storm psychic disciple, 32 unique stratagems, special rules for six especially unpleasant Dread Houses, a suite of Crusade rules in which your own house follows the Eightfold Path of Damnation, and 10 datasheets to field a range of these big, angry mechs.

To add depth and shading, it’s time for washes. Apply Agrax Earthshade over the armor and cloth of the Traitor Guard, focusing on the recessed areas. For the skin areas, use Carroburg Crimson. These Space Marines are based on the Incursor / Infiltrator kit, with an additional sprue like those of the Chaos Space Marine Legionaries from Kill Team: Nachmund and the T’au Pathfinders from Kill Team: Chalnath. These extra bits let you build a range of unique special operatives, such as the Saboteur or the Voxbreaker. Finally there’s the B- Tier. These factions need help badly and hopefully will get it in the next competitive dataslate. If an operative incapacitates one or more enemy operatives while being under GAZE OF THE GODS AND within 6 inches of the center you gain a Victory Point at the end of the Turning Point. A pretty straight forward Tac Op that is not difficult to achieve, and a very obvious choice if objective markers are also located near the center as your opponent will likely have to commit operatives to them at some point. This can be difficult to score during the first Turning Point as your Chieftain is the only one who will be benefiting from GAZE OF THE GODS and will be unlikely to have a charge target that early. Still it is not unreasonable to score 2 points off of this Tac Op, making it a solid choice. Malign Command – Faction Tac Op 2 Chem-Breather [1 EP] – Identical in effect to the Wyrmblade Photo-Visors, makes operatives immune to Stun and negative APL modifiers. At first glance, this looks like the obligatory medic specialist. However this is chaos, so you should know better. Instead the Corpseman is a combination buffer and healer who can use his Stimms (1 APL) ability to produce one of three different effects:

Another interesting mix, with two Talons of the Emperor teams, Void Dancers, Intercessors, Legionnaires, Navy Breachers, and two Blooded teams. Again, a healthy mix that offers more variety. Use this ploy after one of your operatives incapacitates an enemy operative within 3 inches of it to gain 1 Blood Token to your pool. This is perhaps the “weakest” of the 4 tactical ploys, and likely most useful on Turning Point 1 to help ensure you have 4 Blood Tokens by TP 2 so you can use THE GAZE OF THE GODS. Dark Favour Headhunter– Always a good choice, especially if your opponent’s leader is a combat specialist who needs to be forward to be useful. The Blooded have what I consider the best rules yet released for a Kill Team. They strike a fantastic balance between being useful, and incredibly fluffy. You have the option of creating a team of entirely unique operatives, and the rules team seems to really have learned from past mistakes as there don’t appear to be any “broken” interactions. The Blooded have no rules that allow operatives to FIGHT or SHOOT twice, nor do they have the ability to activate multiple specialists in a row, or any other abilities that have been the targets of recent Rules Errata. And speaking of fully Into the Dark events we have the Kill Team Open champs event, the largest non-LVO US event, an 87-player, 8-round major which took place in Maryland on February 19th.Once the texture is dry, apply a wash of Nuln Oil over the base to add depth and definition. After that, drybrush the base with Administratum Grey to give it a worn look. If you prefer to field your Legion in power armour, these two upgrade sets are for you. While they were originally designed for Mark II and Mark IV armours, they can also be easily used with Mark V and Mark III kits. Death Guard Mark III Torsos
