Clean Lenses. Remove build-up of dust on the sensors. Use a Q-tip or canned air to clean the lenses, being especially careful not to scratch them. The Caldwell Precision Ballistic Chronograph provides accurate velocity measurements across a wide range of shooting conditions. Higher accuracy was achieved by using a high speed 48 MHz processor and by designing a circuit with an advanced data interface that allows each unit to be computer calibrated at the factory after assembly. The end result is the ability to provide much better accuracy than other chronographs on the market (+/- .25%). The chrono looks at the light above or below two sensors set apart by about a foot and waits for the light to be disturbed. Light on the first sensor is disturbed, and then X milliseconds later the light of the second sensor is disturbed.

To use the radar you need to aim it very precisely at your target. They give you the most useless of V notches to do this with. “Where are you aiming?” I don’t know man… that direction? Because it is a large bayonet that straps onto your barrel — this can shift your point of impact while it is attached. It can also mess with your rifle harmonics and open or close your groups oddly. MagnetoSpeed V3 There are a number of ways this can be done. The most common and “basic” way is with light. The magic of… LIGHT! By default, a chronograph’s main goal is to measure time. This is also true for shooting chronographs. The accuracy of the information is dead-on in all weather conditions. The unit is robust and can take a beating. If you are unable to connect your Android device to the chronometer follow these instructions:
With the audio cable disconnected at both ends…
1. Connect the audio cable to the Android device
2. Connect the audio cable to the Chronometer The G2 can also calculate more different types of data. This includes the average velocity, extreme spread, minimum, maximum, and standard deviation. It can also measure 5 to 9,999 feet per second (FPS) like the rest of its Caldwell counterparts. Unlike the Ballistic, G2 has its Bluetooth and SMS (text) features. a few years ago when I asked every person at the gun range if they liked their chrono? and would they buy it again? Or buy something else.. At that time 80% said buy Labradar. It costs more but its better..Well several years later I asked the same question to about as many people as before at the gun range and competitions..The answers have change with alot of rants on Labradar.. It misses Shots..It wont connect via Bluetooth half the time.. It will disconnect after 3 shots. It quit working when using my suppressor..I had to buy the Air Gun Trigger to make it work .The Doppler misses shots. The list goes on. But basically, it’s an advanced user kind of thing. But don’t let that scare you — they’re actually easier to get into than you might think. Best Shooting Chronograph

Skybox chronographs use a “skybox” to measure when the shadow of the projectile passes two points. It does some math and provides velocity information. This is the most common and cheapest type of chronograph since they are easy to make and the tech is pretty simple. Chronos like the Caldwell down below use Skyboxes. Caldwell Chronograph “skybox” designCaldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph Premium Kit Contains everything you need to capture reliable velocity data in one convenient kit. Includes Chronograph, IR LED Light Kit, Tripod and Custom Carry Case that conveniently holds all items. The Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph Premium Kit provides accurate velocity measurements across a wide range of shooting conditions. Higher accuracy was achieved by using a high speed 48 MHz processor and by designing a circuit with an advanced data interface that allows each unit to be computer calibrated at the factory after assembly. The end result is the ability to provide much better accuracy than other chronographs on the market (+/- .25%). Although technologically advanced, the unit is designed to be simple to operate, displaying velocity in Feet per second or Meters per second on the large built in LCD screen. I have chosen seven of the best shooting chronographs to buy this year. Before we talk about them in greater detail, I have summarized a neat table for you to look at. The table includes the dimensions, weight, and price of each featured chronograph: Name Suggest that folks also: 1) place rifle in a lead sled(ie well mounted) and possibly a remote trigger pull. If trying to eval groupings at same time. 2) space shots a similar amount in time with idea to let barrel be at approx. same temp 3) If practical, document each load for minor differences when loading to help in eval. of velocity data from your expensive chronograph. That is, slight change in charge etc. 4) take pains on each shot that it be aimed as perfectly as the last.

Long-range shooter enthusiasts, you might want to read this one out. The Beta Master is one of the best long-range shooting chronographs in the market right now. It is also factory calibrated and is easy to operate for newbies. Due to its calibrated design, it has a dependable accuracy of +/-.25%. Furthermore, this chronograph also caters to different types of shooters’ needs. These can be worked around depending on the firearm you’re using, many high end precision rifle chassis have rod attachments you can get to mount the Magnetospeed to them to keep them off your barrel.Just turn it on, wait a few seconds, and shoot. The number is clear to read or you run an Aux line to your phone to record the data. Caldwell Chrono with extra light things and tripod I know about statistics and how to “control” a process. . . and humbly leave the chrono details to you. Remove Sun Shades in heavy overcast or shaded conditions. The Sun Shades are only necessary in sunny or partly cloudy conditions, and by removing them in other conditions you'll allow more light into the chronograph.

With the LabRadar, you get a string of data per shot, 5 user pre-set distances out to 99 yards. So you get much more information than just the muzzle velocity. Loading for multiple rifle and pistol calibers, the LabRadar allows me to get into the nitty gritty of fine tuning my reloads. This unit can perform a lot of actions, one of which includes its string shot memory. The Beta Master can store up to 60 shots in its internal memory. Like the ProChrono, you can delete an individual or a whole set of string shot data. Avoid low light conditions, such sunrise and sunset. During these times the extreme low angle of the sun can cause added variation due to reflections and low levels of light. Use of optional light kit will improve function in these conditions. Others work on a similar method, but a different form. Instead of light small electromagnetic sensors are set along a line. While the Labradar is considered to be the cream of the crop in chronographs, I really didn’t have a good experience with it.The MagnetoSpeed is it changes my POI.. It wont fit my big barrel. But it does not disconnect and it does not miss shots..
