Plus it obviously sticks to the paper like a mf which creates those beautiful hairlines we collectors love so much. I mainly purchased this record because 1) I was a Filthy Frank fan, 2) the Clams Casino and Shlohmo-produced tracks, and 3) SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK DUUUHHHHH!

but to be honest, I fell in love with it, my copy is almost dead silence and the sound is really good. Maybe thats because that's a LoFi record and it's difficult to make a deep sound when you making that kind of music. BALLADS 1 also represents Joji’s evolution as an artist since the release of his debut EP In Tongues in November 2017. it's in that kind of lazy black jewel case with no tray artwork at all, and there's no tracklist anywhere on the pressing.

Really wanted to like this but the sound in this is not good, the tracks that have deep base don’t sound great and my copy skips on the first track fresh out of the wrapping. SIDEB, largely produced by Joji himself, digs deeper into the lo-fi and off-kilter sounds that hark back to his experimental beginnings as an artist. The album intimates a spectrum of conflicts and experiences in romantic relationships — from desire, unattainable love, torment, to self-loathing. After months and months of waiting, I finally got my copy and I'm glad I didn't read the comments beforehand as my copy sounds amazing!
