I can never get a solid pulse on her personality and she doesn’t feel tangible to me as a character. But where the FL is unsure of herself and romance with the ML bc of her very physical, very violent assault trauma the ML is holding himself bc of his high sex drive. Some parts are scary to read about the fear of rejection because of your insecurities, that makes me tear up a little. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal.

It's always a pleasure when an author finds a good narrator and retains her/him throughout the series. One of the women had an 8 year old daughter but she is now missing: has the murderer taken her or has she been abducted by someone else? Luckily, Lottie's family is not involved with the investigation this time but her staff keeps her on her toes. The second woman, Fiona Heffernan’s eight-year-old daughter cannot be found, leaving Lottie and her team racing against time to solve the murders and find the little girl before it is too late. Their back and forth banter continually kept me giggling and the underlying sexual innuendos showed how much the two of them desired each other.I've got everything crossed that at some point the author will allow Lottie to be happy, if only for a short while. Love it even more now, on re-watches things that didn't quite make sense at first are clearer and things that were not noticed or appreciated before are and much admired. Seventh book featuring DI Lottie Parker but first of mine, this was again a different police procedural. That's used to get them back together after they supposedly both work on themselves (we get hints that it's happening but again, we don't see it happen).

This slow-burn, strangers-to-enemies-to-lovers, contemporary romance is a standalone filled with angst, yearning, and finding peace. She has an annoying habit of pre-empting everything, which is especially annoying in her personal relationships with her family and Boyd.

There is a careful balance in Patricia Gibney’s narrative between the suspects and the police perspective, and her family life. I think I finally know what makes me choose these books, maybe trying to find something in them that makes me heal. Then there's a water leak the next day and she just sits down and screams bloody murder and stares into the distance while the water continues spraying out until her neighbor hears and snaps her out of it? Of course I was going to LOVE Broken Souls, because I LOVE Lottie Parker and I LOVE Patricia Gibney's writing! Writing is intelligent, sophisticated and thought-provoking, establishing Foyle's personality with so much depth already and providing some tense and heart-tugging moments. This is an unputdownable thriller with lot of twists and turns and my heart broke at the outcome at the end.

I had my first taste of the Lottie Parker series late last year when I reviewed Silent Voices by Patricia Gibney. All in all, good police procedural with an interesting enough plot and great improvement after the last two books in the series. The girls decide to go to NYC for Christmas taking Louis with them and their newly discovered uncle. Despite being a strong book, there was an element of the fantastical, even unbelievable that I didn’t care for much and there was also an element of soap opera to it. Even though the novel is set in the run up to Christmas, this is a story that chilled me in more ways than just the weather! Después de encontrar un hombre ahorcao en el lago, aparecen los cuepos de dos mujeres, de una profesora y una enfermera concretamente, vestidas de novia .
