Sturdier than Sawyer Squeeze bags. The Platy Bottle seems to be made from a stronger material than Sawyer Squeeze bags.

Portable Water Containers for Camping – Cnoc Outdoors

Sure! I know hydration reservoirs aren’t fashionable for ultralight but I just don’t drink enough unless I have ease of access. I go through a lot of water, and I’ve had giardia before so don’t skimp on treatment (I sometimes use chlorox tabs then filter and even in our roof-fed huts, I at the least filter the water). In the pics… It fits the Sawyer Squeeze net bag. This allowed me to hang the CNOC VECTO on a branch and use it as a gravity water filtration system. The CNOC Vecto is a “dirty bag” that turns Sawyer Squeeze / Mini / Micro, Katadyn BeFree, and other squeeze-style hollow fiber water filters into hands-free gravity filters. I quite like having only one entry point in my water bags and I want that point to be decently sized. The 42mm openings of the Hydrapak Seeker bags fit the bill. It’s just much easier for me to hold the bag up by the mouth, pour dirty water in with my scoop. Set the scoop down once it’s full, and with that hand just immediately attach the water filter onto it.Great compatibility with Sawyer Squeeze.Tested with a lot of pressure and not a single drop seemed to get through any other part than the filter itself. This means it’s safer as you know no dirty water mixed in with your filtered water. NB. The new hydrapak flux is, in my use thus far, a better squeeze bottle for filtration than a seeker – the more rounded profile seems less prone to microleaks than the seekers’ sharper angles. It’s also far easier to fill at small streams as it keeps its shape better. So I was left with a strong preference for the Sawyer Squeeze and the Hydrapak Seeker bags… two things that are inherently incompatible due to different opening sizes. The Sawyer Squeeze accepts a 28mm bottle/bag while the Hydrapak Seeker’s opening is 42mm, as mentioned above. I searched far and wide on the internet and counldn’t find any 42mm to 28mm adapters. [Sigh] I looked into those CNOC water bags and didn’t love the common complaints about the threaded male portion of the bags being to flexible so as to possibly get bent out of shape when mating with a Squeeze. I think CNOC may be trying to fix this, but I heard it was an issue.

Sawyer Squeeze Bag Alternatives: What to Use When They Pop Sawyer Squeeze Bag Alternatives: What to Use When They Pop

If you want to use the Vecto as part of a gravity filter setup (and trust me, you do) the sliding plastic clamp makes it easy to attach a loop of cord for hanging. Instead of sitting there squeezing water from a pouch, you can simply hang the Vecto from a tree branch (or doorknob, bike handlebars, hiking pole tripod, etc) and let gravity do the work. Also, the Flux does look more durable, but it is also 2-3x heavier per unit of volume held. More importantly for me though is the fact that it’s only holds 1 liter. That’s a real deal breaker, since filling the water bag and screwing on the filtering system to it is one of the major pains when filtering. I try to minimize the amount of times I have to fill the dirty water bag at each water source, and the Flux would definitely not align with this mindset. Nice to know it exists though!Comfortable shape. The bag has a narrower middle section that allows you to easily hold it in your hand and it also has a gusseted that allows it to stand when it’s full. Some leakage.Even though I have not found it myself, I have seen numerous reports of users complaining they did get some leakage when using the bags with the Sawyer Squeeze filter. This would increase the risk of getting the dirty water mixed with your filtered one. I don’t use it this way, but you can also use a second Vecto as a clean water bag. This setup would imitate a Platypus GravityWorks filter, great for sharing a water filter among a group or filtering lots of water for use around camp. CNOC also offers an interesting collapsible bottle called the Vesica that’s worth a look for this purpose. Design for Filtering Water

Some leakage from the cap. In my experience and that of other users who shared this in various forums, unless you tie the cap very tightly, you might see some leakage from that part. Obviously, the tighter you twist on the cap or the filter, the bigger the chances to damage the thread. Hard to fill.Pretty similar to Sawyer Squeeze, the bottle does not expand when underwater, so there’s not a lot of water going in when you push the bag underwater. Unless you can always find some source of water pouring downwards, you’ll freeze your hands like I did many times using it. Secure cap attached to the bag.I love the small bit that holds the cap attached to the bag. I do have a habit of losing small pieces like caps from my bottles. With all that said, I agree that the CNOC bags are probably the more reasonable solution for most people. Attaches to filters with a 28 mm thread, such as the Sawyer Squeeze, Mini, or Micro, the LifeStraw Flex, and the HydroBlu Versa FlowThe Hydrapak Seeker water bags are just so much better than any other dirty bags I’ve every tried. The rubberized material is super durable while still being light, and these bags in general are just way easier/more comfortable to use as squeeze bags for dirty water. Additionally, the 42mm openings are a great size: big enough to easily pour water into with a water scoop, but compact enough to not be ungainly to deal with. Using the same universal 28mm thread as the Vecto, the Vesica can be used as a dirty water bottle for filters like Sawyer or HydroBlu. If you like to filter into a container for easy drinking, use the Vesica with the Vecto to create a fast, light and easy to use filtering system.

Please note: TPU is a porous material and so is not completely smell free after production, please clean and air prior to use The filter often requires you to squeeze the bags to get the water through. So the risk of accidentally popping one during filtration is quite high. CNOC VECTO is made from sturdy rubber. While, like any bag, it’s not protected from sharp edges and cuts, the rubber is elastic and bouncy, which holds the squeeze pressure and is not as sensitive to impacts, like dropping on the ground. If you use a Sawyer water filter, the Vecto is a MUCH better replacement for the squeeze pouches it came with. The filter removes bacteria, cysts, and sediment with its pore size of 0.1 microns (0.0001mm). The output is up to 2L/min. and the capacity up to 1000L, depending on the water quality. 100% PVC and BPA free. Specifications: In subsequent years while plugging in several sections of the PCT that we missed in 2015, my wife and I tried out the Katadyn BeFree paired with Hydrapak Seeker water bags. From that experience, we learned two things: With the BeFree™ Filter, you no longer have to worry about where your next drink will come from. Just fill-up the flask and let the EZ-Clean Membrane™ do the work. Gently squeeze the flask for instant refreshment. Also, the alternate idea of keeping a Sawyer Squeeze permanently attached to the bottom of a CNOC bag as you full it up with dirty water from the zip side seems like a perfect scenario for dripping dirty water onto the outlet mouthpiece of the Squeeze. That’s a recipe made in heaven for contamination.
