Toy animal vehicle: This LEGO DUPLO My First Animal Train set comes with three removable carriages and four farm animal toys for children 18 months and above. I’m working on multiple cars all at once, and they’re all due within a few months [at Mattel], you know? I love seeing Hot Wheels giving an older series some new attention, though I feel like this is one that might get lost in the maw.

I just love how the whole look comes together – black, purple, kinda shady, kinda gangsta…does it scream “Enderman” to me…? It’s all pretty self-explanatory really: Hot Wheels upped the Minecraft Character Car by one and did so with the Ocelot. Alright alright, new might be stretching it a bit a this point, but it does stand out as a rather random addition to the Character Car pantheon. I get no pleasure in saying this – this is an impressive set and I love zombies (yeah that’s right, I liked zombies before zombies were popular…I had like 8 zombie movies on DVD back in ’03 and that shit was pretty remarkable) – but this car is the most lackluster and most foreign of the set. As much as I want to drag out the whole Minecraft family for an updated portrait, it just ain’t a great time.

I don’t know if you noticed but every single character has the drop icon on the chassis of the car – so whatever that character drops when you kill 'em, is represented on the chassis and we actually did that in full colour. We expect the occasional defect in toys anyway – hell, we’ve come to tolerate it in pretty much anything manufactured with a high degree of automation – but I think it’s pretty remarkable that Hot Wheels lets so few defects actually slip. Then the Spider car actually complements that because it is a Holler Truck and that truck actually opens up to then place the Skeleton on top so then you have a Spider Jockey.

reminds me of the true giants we’ve seen across the Character Car line: K-2SO, the Rancor, Groot, and Hulkbuster. It’s probably for the best – I never saw the Ocelot either and even that initial run never spent very long on the shelf. All I gots to do is hold the pieces firmly in place, put some superglue around those rivets, hold it a little more while it dries, and bam, pretty much good as new!The Minecraft Character Car series is a Character Cars sub-series featuring motorized versions of in-game NPCs from the sandbox video game Minecraft. I dunno though…maybe it’s something more like a hay baler, since the 2 prongs rotate rather than move along a vertical track.
