As you all may know by now, I am fascinated by the industries of food and agriculture and I will devour any book with an indepth look at anything related to these. I really appreciated the timeline recap at the end but do wish there were more visual examples of what the text was explaining and color pictures would help too. Desk and exam copies of certain titles are available to lecturers who wish to consider books as course texts. Given that there are existential threats abroad to the common banana, and that we are not yet ready with a cross-bred version that is resistant to those threats, we should probably do what we can to appreciate the banana before it…um…splits. This is a fact, however there seem to be some solutions in place, and at least several alternatives.The author was right to end the story before completing the narrative arc, leaving the reader to imagine the true ending for his deftly crafted characters: eventual death by starvation. A disease is killing bananas all around the world, and the one variety we've chosen as "the" banana is threatened. Then, willy-nilly, Koeppel treats us to another short three-page discourse, this time on the spread of that bane of banana plantations, Panama disease. This collection is divided into three sections for the purpose of developing kids reading ability in a steady and consistent way without putting them into too much pressure or problems, some of these methods includes simple stories, theme focussed, big speech bubbles to help parents guide children, and single stories to aid kids in learning how to follow a story from start to finish and help them understand comprehension skills.

The shortest microhistory I've found is John McPhee's 1967 book on oranges, which is really a long New Yorker article somehow padded out to 160 pages for publication. Naturally, readers might see a reverse metaphor in the story, as any parent frustrated by a child’s inattentiveness will recognize.The book is a great reminder that even if we adopt civil behavior, niceties and small politeness cannot mask our animal motives and desires and will not save humanity from calamity and demise.
