From unit 3. A learner will need a mentor who is. willing to be able to complete observations of practice and witness statements to confirm occupational competency. Training on vocational observations will be provided to the mentor. The mentor will be from within the learner's placement environment, and must be suitably qualified- e.g., the class teacher. Observation by us required Total Qualification Time comprises GLH and an estimate of the number of hours a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study or any other learning, including assessment, which takes place as directed by, but not under the supervision of a lecturer supervisor or tutor.
