When the company designed this type of folding workbench, it was basically to give the DIY person at home, an extra pair of hands. The actual design is simple, and is easy to set up and put away relatively neatly. The principle is that you can fix the piece you are working on to the workbench so that you can work on it with both hands without the risk of it moving.

It's a heavy sturdy unit, but with a few bits that I'm not sure will stand the test of time -- the one-handed operation mechanism seems flimsy and sometimes jams, while the catches tend to end up on the wrong side of their slots when folding up the workmate. Thanks to its dual clamping cranks, you can work on irregular shaped items and, together with adjustable swivel pegs and jaw retention grooves, the workbench delivers even higher clamping versatility and reliable material hold. But I have only recently received it and being pressed to give a review when I have not yet fully tested it. With the dual height models you have 2 choices of height so it can be used as a bench and like a basic saw horse - personally we prefer this as it gives you more use out of the workmate Some products may be delivered straight to your door from one of our suppliers and these products will be labelled within the product description.

When assembled, they will feel a bit wobbly, but it is not a huge issue. After all these use thin steel and fold up, so they will never be as solid as a properly made work bench.This product carries a full 2 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables. In the unlikely event of a fault the item returned is subject to fair wear & tear and must not have been used beyond the scope of it's design. Those frustrations are down to people trying to use them for tasks that they are not able to do. These are not heavy duty work benches, but they are fine for sawing some wood on, and for doing basic DIY jobs. This was a present so we wanted to give it intact. It would have been very helpful to have been told 2 other items were in the same box. It wasn't an outer box but the named workmate box.
