Instead of spending time dragging the player through the monotonous dramatics of a fractured marriage, the story in It Takes Two quickly takes off after a heated argument between May and Cody. A year ago, a plane ticket of mine to Canada was rendered useless when COVID-19 beset North America.

Outraged over their attempts to get Rose to cry (rightfully so), Moon Baboon attacks May and Cody, denouncing their actions the whole time. If we ever had trouble with our relationships we could apply these or see an expert, we will never know if it works until we tried them. Their backyard's tree is grounds for what apparently is a long-fought war between its two chief occupants: the squirrels and the wasps. It takes hardwork to achieve what you are passionate on but in the end it will all be worth the hassle and risks.

In all honesty, I expected something special with this game; I’m a sucker for wholesome stories where couples resolve differences to live “happily ever after. Hello everyone, I have had the pleasure of working as a Lead Character Artist on Hazelights latest game - It Takes Two. Just as the fictional couple of Cody and May faced problems in It Takes Two, my relationship, too, was in conflict. But then again everyone has their own way of dealing with their problems so do those that seem fit for you to be able to get by your everyday life. The fact that what Cody and May did to Cutie is glossed over in lieu of what could have been a teachable moment is rather disappointing, to say the least.

It might seem especially questionable that they are able to conduct electricity between wires for the sake of several puzzles in the first area of the game, "The Shed". He is a self-proclaimed expert on love who determined to fix May and Cody's relationship, due to the wish made by their daughter, Rose. However being in a marriage would need to keep the sparks alive, if we feel like it is fading away which is normal then it takes both parties making the effort to ‘bring the sweetness back’ into the relationship. From start to finish, It Takes Two is a blast that, for better or worse, waltzes through every new tool, ability, and vehicle it gives to Cody and May.The role that they have will need to depend on each other, without one then the other will not be able to work to proceed onto the next level.

Yet for some reason, The Book of Love materializes as a shiny pink mustachioed creature with a cleft chin and often cheesy Spanish accent. During the years of production we faced a lot of challenges but I am very happy about how the game turned out in the end. Pursuing your passion might not always pay your bills – but if you give it up, you give up on a part of yourself. While they spend most of the game bickering, there are times when Cody and May prove to be one of gaming's best couples. So when subsequentially transform into Rose's dolls, it is the Book of Love that orchestrates their adventures from then on.

It was a pleasure to be a part of this project and to be entrusted with creating Hakim as he is one of the most important characters in the game. Or hoping that if you waited out the quick-time cues, maybe the option to murder poor Cutie would just go away.
