If you wish to return your item to Robert Dyas, you can do so by the following method: 1. Request a Collection via Robert Dyas Customer Services Plant your bulbs at least twice as deep as their height. So, a bulb that is 5cm tall will do best planted at a depth of 10cm. The exception being tulip bulbs which need a depth of about 20cm. This will prevent them for getting slugged and will encourage flowering year after year. Plant bulbs in ordinary plastic pots that will in turn fit inside your more attractive containers. Then, when they’ve finished flowering they can be removed, leaving the container ready for summer planting. With their distinctive flowers and sweet scent, they are a must-have for any garden and have been for hundreds of years. In fact, leaving just 5cm between bulbs will make for a gorgeous spring display come next year. 4. Water them well

Plant bulbs at twice the depth of the height of the bulb and four times their width apart. e.g. 5cm tall bulbs need to be planted 10cm below the surface of the ground and 20cm apart. Planted in the autumn, Daffodils will burst into life from February with cheery yellow flowers, right up until late in the spring.

What Makes us Different?

Take your plant pot and fill it with peat-free potting compost. Be sure to 'mix your compost with some grit to make sure the drainage is good and the bulbs do not become waterlogged over winter,' adds Monty Don. There’s nothing like the sight of lemon-yellow daffodils hailing the end of the winter and the start of spring! These Narcissus ‘Tete a Tete’ are a real British favourite. When it comes to growing daffodils in pots, the process is pretty simple – especially if you follow Monty Don's advice. The best time to plant daffodil bulbs is September, as it will give your plants plenty of time to get established. However, you can plant bulbs right through until November if you must, and even as late as January – if you can break through that chilly soil and dig a hole deep enough to plant them, that is. Can you leave daffodil bulbs in the ground all year?

When digging your hole aim to double /tripling the of length the bulb for planting purposes e.g. if bulb is 5cm high it should be planted between 10 – 15cms below soil level. Plant bulb facing upwards with the shoot facing toward the light and space each bulb at least twice its own width apart from the next. Anything of a nature that for hygiene or associated health and safety - this includes the Outdoor Spas, Mattresses and Divan Sets Better still, they will bloom spring after spring after spring – and all while multiplying, too! Can you leave daffodils in pots over winter? When planting in fairly deep containers, try layering your bulbs. Start by placing the largest bulbs at the bottom, add a layer of compost and then the next sized bulbs. Repeat until you have the placed the smallest bulbs at the top, covered with a layer of compost. Bulbs don’t like having damp bottoms (does anyone?) so make sure containers have plenty of drainage holes. When planting direct choose a well-drained spot where the soil is rich with hummus. When planting direct go for a natural look as opposed to planting in rows. The best way of achieving this is by gently rolling a handful of bulbs over the soil and plant where they land. If planting in a lawn remember that bulb foliage needs to be left to die down naturally. This will delay your lawn mowing activity so choose a spot where a clump of longer grass mixed with dying bulb foliage won’t look too bad. Alternatively, go ahead and mow, replacing the bulbs in the autumn. Plant in pots, containers or straight in the ground this autumn for a fantastic display next spring!
