In Along Came A Spider, Alex Cross is called in to investigate a case with two dead prostitutes and a baby. Not shortly after, Cross finds he has to contend with psychotic math teacher Gary Soneji. Soneji has kidnapped two children and Cross is pulled off the homicide to cover the kidnapping. Soneji strikes again and murders an FBI Agent who has been talking about Soneji on television. Cross scours the apartment and discovers Soneji’s obsession with the kidnappings and his dream of becoming famous as a criminal. What follows is an elaborate game as Soneji’s personality is unraveled and the mission to retrieve the children plays out. Fear No Evil is classic Alex Cross. The story unravels rapidly, the action is high octane and intense but love, family and unity remain at the heart of it all. The mystery of 'M' continues, and I was absolutely enthralled and intrigued as more was unveiled,

Alex Cross's Trial (2009): In this story within a story concept, Alex writes about one of his ancestors, Abraham Cross. The earlier novels were initially named after children's rhymes, but from 2006 the lead character's name started appearing in the titles. [1] Trumbore, Dave. Recently the franchise was rebooted in the 2012 movie, Alex Cross. Starring Tyler Perry as the James Patterson protagonist, Alex Cross must pursue military-trained assassin turned murderer Picasso(Matthew Fox) as they play an elaborate game of cat and mouse. Alex Cross is a crime, mystery, and thriller novel series written by James Patterson. The series focuses on Metropolitan Police Department detective and father Alex Cross as he faces threats to his family and the city of Washington, D.C. Supporting characters include two of Cross's children, Damon, and Janelle, as well as his grandmother Nana Mama. The series is usually narrated in first-person perspective by Alex Cross, and occasionally from the villains' point of view in third-person. The change of location was fun for me, when the majority of these books are set in the City, it's enjoyable to take Alex out of his familiar surroundings. It's easy to feel as though Alex is always safe, surrounded by countless officers and in the safety of his City. To be out in the wild, vulnerable and open, certainly ups the ante! Alex Cross is, in my opinion, James Patterson's finest creation and one of my favourite characters of all time. It's more than the crime solving, the suspense and the drama - it's the family as well, the fact that every character gets a story and no-one is wasted. For younger readers, this book alludes to a further 'Ali Cross' novel as well, which excites both my daughter and me - it's lovely for us both to be reading about the same characters, at the same time in their individual adventures.

Shafer is responsible for kidnapping Christine Johnson, Alex's fiancée at the time, and killing his own wife, Lucy, in Pop Goes the Weasel. He is not seen until three or four books later ( London Bridges) where he is forced to work with the Wolf, a serial killer and powerful organized crime boss. He is then assigned to keep Alex Cross busy and later decides to hunt down Alex in London, only to be fatally wounded and killed by Cross when he confronts him. In the novel Pop Goes The Weasel, Geoffrey competes with a small group of other people, known as The Horsemen to kill people, or "live their fantasies". He is also known to have started killing many years before he was even introduced and has gone over 100 murders. Shafer is described as one of Alex's worst enemies. A sequel based on Double Cross was in discussion in 2012. [6] [7] [8] Perry was confirmed to reprise his role. [9] However, the film was cancelled after Alex Cross did not perform well at the box office.
